I am lusting after today’s Atlanta Indian Wedding, and I can’t even count the reasons why.  But for now, I thrilled to be able to gush my little heart out about Tanika’s fabulous bridal style.  So, let’s start, with her bridal lengha, shall we?  The petal pink color with the tulle petticoat will make the knees of the girliest of girls weak.  Completed with a rich, burgundy border, and some bling, this is one regal lengha. And, we haven’t even started on the jewelry!  A sparkling tikka, tear drop earrings, and a pair of glittering ruby haath phool are the ultimate accessories to this exquisite look.  Waaaaay fun!  After all, getting ready is a tough job, but a Maharani’s got to do it!

From Maharani, Tanika :
I always like to feel comfortable in whatever I'm wearing and the outfits for my wedding were no exception. I had to figure out how to get comfort, glamour, and the "bridal" look all at once. I chose to go with a bridal lehenga that wasn't too gaudy or heavy weight wise but one that looked visually appealing still. I didn't know much else about what I wanted for my wedding when the wedding planning process started but I knew I wanted my bridal outfit to not be red and my jewelry to be big! I chose the dusky pink with the maroon dupatta because I feel it encompasses a modern bride with the traditional. As far as my jewelry is concerned I wanted the Jodhaa-Akbar style jewelry no matter what my outfit looked like. Something about kundan and such that seems so classy and timeless to me. There were more pieces and bigger ones that came with the set but I only chose to wear the one massive choker, matha-pati (weird name for a nice piece, the tikka), and the hand ring bracelets. I wore a few pairs of kalira that my friends tied on me. And also had a lovely bouquet made by my friends! We ordered the flowers from Costco and my friends put it together literally right before the wedding!
All my girl friends and also my mom wore a white flower in their hair to signify that they are from the girls side.
As far as the wedding decor is concerned, we weren't looking for a mandap that with overshadow everything. I wanted a mandap made of fabric along with kalira since I think they are gorgeous, especially the old school ones too.
I absolutely love Tanika's cloud nine-ish smile! It's emblematic of that glorious wedding day feeling and warms my heart.  More on the way!
