From the bride, on the proposal story:
"It was a proposal 3 months in the making. We knew in our hearts for many months that we were meant to be together, but we treaded lightly. Rohit did not know when the right time to propose should be, as you all know he takes his time. After receiving the Khosla family stamp of approval, we knew it was safe to proceed.
We found ourselves in Hanalei Bay, Kauai--a romantic setting to propose; or perhaps start the process. While swimming in the ocean Rohit expressed his feelings and a proposal was made. In the midst of this we were toppled by crashing waves, perhaps a blessing or a warning from Kanaloa (Hawaiin god of the ocean). In the unruly surf, Shaheen said yes, or was she just struggling to breathe? This is what we called our "soft proposal," as Rohit had yet to ask Shaheen's parents for approval. Typical of Rohit to do everything out of order, and without a ring in hand!
It was not official until Shaheen's parents gave their blessing in the Oshtory family room in Stockton.
A proposal that took 3 months, leading to a marriage that will last 3 lifetimes...it was well worth the wait!

And now these lovebirds tie the knot in a sweet ceremony!
