Guanajuato, MX Fusion Wedding by Valeria Bross

When love knows no boundaries, magic happens—and Neva & John’s wedding in the heart of Guanajuato, Mexico, was nothing short of magical. A perfect blend of regal Indian traditions and breathtaking Mexican landscapes, their wedding was an opulent affair that could easily be the next Bollywood blockbuster (with a Hollywood twist!).

The festivities kicked off with a vibrant Sangeet at the Instituto Allende, where Neva stunned in a Sabyasachi Heritage Collection lehenga that shimmered with every twirl on the dance floor. John, channeling his inner maharaja, looked dapper in an intricately embroidered sherwani. With Andres Dehehsa spinning the beats, guests danced under a canopy of marigolds, setting the tone for the celebrations ahead.

From the grand floral installations by Angelica Solache to the seamless execution of every dreamy detail, Penzi Weddings orchestrated this multi-day spectacle with unparalleled finesse. Their expertise in blending Neva & John’s vision into an awe-inspiring reality was evident in every intricate decor element, every perfectly timed moment, and every jaw-dropping reveal. Whether the elegant Mehndi ceremony at Casa Cece & Fatima 7 or the grand wedding at Hacienda San Luis Gonzaga, Penzi Weddings ensured that every setting was nothing short of cinematic.

The air was thick with emotion as Neva glided into the room in a Romona Keveza gown (purchased from Casa de Novia Bridal). Her father’s teary-eyed reaction was a testament to the love and pride he felt at that moment—one captured beautifully by the talented lens of Valeria Bross and Kas Vizcaino (because when your wedding is this stunning, you need both digital and film photography!).

A lush floral mandap framed the couple as they exchanged vows against a backdrop of rolling hills and centuries-old architecture. Guests, dressed in a harmonious palette of creams and golds, watched as Neva & John sealed their love with a kiss, their smiles shining brighter than the chandeliers at the after-party.

From the romantic first dance to the energetic beats of DJ Omar, the reception was a dazzling affair where every guest became a star on the dance floor. And let’s not forget Neva’s after-party transformation—stepping out in a Tarun Tahiliani jumpsuit that screamed ‘chic and ready to party!’ This power couple radiated pure elegance with John’s Rolex Yacht-Master glistening under the lights and Cartiercufflinks adding the finishing touch.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I was at his house one day and randomly stumbled upon a book he had called "Loving Someone with Anxiety" and immediately started to cry. I do struggle with anxiety and the fact that someone was willing to love me and accept my anxiety and figure out how to be better for me truly touched my heart. I was very used to hearing that my anxiety was something I had to fix and 'get rid of' so the fact that he truly loved me - for me - was amazing!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He did a great job with the proposal. I own a condo on a beautiful lake. That lake is my favorite place in the world and it has a peaceful dock. At the time of the proposal, I had rented it out. Vish somehow got a hold of the tenant and convinced him to lie to me, sending me a text that a break-in had occurred at the condo. We were on our way to dinner to meet friends, so we had to make a u-turn and go to the condo. Once at the condo, I couldn't find the tenant. Everything outside the condo looked fine and normal. I got very worried the robber had kidnapped my tenant and was holding him hostage in my condo. As my freakout worsened, Vish told me to calm down, and that we should go to the lake and wait for the police there. Calm down is the worst thing you can say to someone who's freaking out! So I decided to try to open the door and that's when he pulled me back and said that today was not the day I would be superwoman, that this was way too dangerous and we needed to back off. He literally dragged me to the lake while I screamed and cursed him out. I couldn't understand how he didn't think this was a serious situation! Internally, I started doubting how I could love such an insensitive person. I must have figured everything wrong about him! As we got to the dock, I noticed a bouquet of flowers on the bench and then I realized what was about to happen. Vish had to set up this wild story because he knew there was no way he'd be able to get me to my favorite place in the world without me suspecting anything. He got down on one knee while a photographer hid in a nearby boat and captured the moment. It was incredibly sweet and romantic! He then took me to dinner, where we were supposed to meet our friend and when we got there, I saw that all my friends and family were there, waiting to celebrate us!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
It was a dream come true wedding at our local Gurdwara for the Sikh Ceremony, at our family's house for the Mehndi night and at the Ritz for the Hindu Ceremony and dinner reception. It was a perfect mix of a local home vibe mixed with an out of this world romantic glamour vibe.

The customer service at the Ritz was above and beyond. Chef Jayshree has her own signature Indian fusion dishes, and she's based locally in Orlando. She caters to all the Indian weddings at Ritz hotels across the country, and we were so lucky to have her do our reception food. It was delicious and a nice break from all the other Indian food we'd been eating at all the other events - while also still being Indian enough for those who love their traditional Indian meals! The atmosphere at the Ritz was also incredible. It was impeccable!

My hair and makeup team were the dream team, and were able to change over my looks, from top to bottom, with just 30 minutes to do so between looks. They were able to incorporate my vision while also gently encouraging me to take some risks that made my looks completely unique. My Sikh ceremony look was traditional, while for Mehndi night they turned me into a modern Barbie doll! My Hindu ceremony look was epic, they turned me into a royal queen, and for my reception look, turned down the drama into a soft and romantic gold shimmery Belle look. I didn't have to ask to change anything; all my hair and makeup lasted throughout every event, and the best part was that I still looked like me at the end of the day!

My photographer was incredible and was always there for me. Anytime I needed them for a photo, they were there. They understood my vision and went above and beyond to make sure they captured the shots I wanted. They had snacks on hand in case we needed anything as well and also handled our guests with such grace. I'll never forget how at the Gurdwara, all I wanted was a break. Our photographer pulled us away from our guests, tucked us into a study room, gave us water, and had us stay there for 5 minutes so we could get a breather - all while telling our guests we would be right back. I didn't have to ask for this, they could just tell and simply knew. They really went above and beyond to make sure we had a super special day and that they captured that day too.

Our theme was England Garden, and everything was very beautiful and natural with a lot of browns, greens and red-red roses. It wasn't a big over the top wedding, it was intimate and romantic. The one thing we wanted every guest to feel was loved, and I really think that's what was experienced.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I really like traditions. I love celebrating them and creating my own! We had a Sikh ceremony at the Gurdwara, and I wore bright red. For the Mehndi, I wanted to go completely against tradition and wore white with pastels and mirrors. The Hindu ceremony outfit was my favorite and was a deeper red and green. To change things up, I did two dupattas, with a green one on my head. I love how that look turned out. It was a great mix of traditional and modern. For reception, I was all gold! I had a lot of fun with my hair and makeup team changing up the looks to match each outfit. For the Hindu ceremony, my makeup artist wanted my look to be a bit more edgy, and she used dark green eyeliner in my waterline. I like taking fun risks like that. I think everything turned out beautifully!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Doing it with my husband by my side. We were both equally involved, and I felt so grateful for his support! This truly was both of our weddings :)

Oh - and the food tasting was awesome! The team at the Ritz really made sure we enjoyed everything and left with very full bellies! As we left, I took a deep breath, taking in the incredible scent they had flowing through the Ritz. I said, "I wish my house smelled like this." Moments later, their event coordinator came out with gift bags for me, my mom, and my mother-in-law. We all got candles of the Ritz scent so we could burn them at home! They made us feel so special!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Everyone knows that the only thing guests care about is food, booze, and music, haha! I will say though that our guests also had a great time. Everything was very well planned and we got a lot of compliments on the timelines of each event (it wasn't Indian Standard) as well as how little time was wasted. There were a lot of breaks and time for people to chill out and relax between events. The mandate photos went smoothly, and we captured everyone in under 30 minutes! Our wedding planner did a great job planning each second out!

I think the guests could tell how much my husband and I loved each other during the events as well. Our love for each other came out in different ways - from the wedding and reception entrances to the speeches. The speeches were so heartfelt, even I was moved to tears. I also wrote a song for my husband and sang it for him at the reception. That was his and everyone else's first time hearing it, so that was very special.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
We aren't dancers, so every time we practiced our first dance, we were making mistakes. It got to a point where we said it was ok if we made a mistake during the actual performance because we just couldn't manage to nail it. When it was showtime, somehow, we actually did the whole dance without any mistakes! We just looked at each other in disbelief and felt so accomplished at the end of the performance! It was like we had just won a gold medal together! Best moment ever!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Our friends and family put together a great 5-minute Punjabi/Gujarati dance mashup. The best part was the end when everyone joined flashmob style! It was great to see my coworkers absolutely killing it on the dancefloor and dancing to Bollywood!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
You have to really tune out the outside voices and do what is best for you. You're never going to make everyone happy, and someone will always feel left out, someone will always find the food too cold or spicy and someone will always think you did something wrong and now your marriage will be cursed.

Everything happens very fast, so make sure you take moments to enjoy your partner and plan in moments to have some time just the two of you. Remember - this is just one day. Don't sweat the small stuff and put all that energy into your relationship and make sure it is healthy and nourishing. That is much more important than any wedding detail.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My husband is Hindu and I am Sikh. A special memory that comes to my mind is how all the men in his family got their Pugries tied for our Sikh Ceremony. I felt so loved and appreciated that I wanted to celebrate our customs with us and didn't shy away from it. Also, Vishal's cousin Ami did something very special for me. My Naniji is 90 years old and is bedridden. She couldn't attend any of the festivities. When we were doing Mehndi at home for the family, Ami took one of the cones and put mehndi on my Naniji's hands so that she could also be a part of the wedding celebrations. It really moved my heart that his family did all this for me and my family. I felt so loved!

This was more than a wedding—it was a royal celebration to remember.

Washington, DC Indian Wedding by Mari Harsan Studios

Every wedding has its own charm, but some leave a mark so grand that they become the talk of the town. Sharanya & Vidit’s Hindu wedding at The Mayflower Hotel, an Autograph Collection treasure, expertly planned and designed by A Fine Fête, was nothing short of breathtaking. With a perfect mix of cultural richness, jaw-dropping elegance, and moments that made guests laugh and tear up in equal measure, this celebration had it all.

From the moment Sharanya stepped out in her stunning Amit Aggarwal sangeet outfit, shimmering under the city lights, it was clear—this wedding was a high-fashion dream. The reception saw her in a Gaurav Gupta masterpiece, paired effortlessly with Cartier jewelry that redefined sophistication. Meanwhile, Vidit looked every bit the modern Maharaja, donning custom tuxedos by Balani Custom Clothiers and exuding confidence and charm.

If an Olympic category for capturing love in its most magical form existed, Mari Harsan Studios would take home gold. Every frame of this wedding tells a story—from stolen glances in the grand halls of The Mayflower Hotel to the vibrant baraat led by Harmon’s Carriages. The way the cityscape blended seamlessly with the couple’s timeless elegance is nothing short of cinematic.

As the doors to the ceremony opened, guests were transported into a floral fantasy designed by the genius team at Sarah Khan Event Styling. Soft drapery, pastel blooms, and ambient lighting (thank you, Elite Entertainment!) created an ethereal atmosphere where Sharanya & Vidit tied the knot in a heartfelt, traditional Hindu ceremony. It was time to celebrate once the vows were sealed and the blessings bestowed. The sangeet was a riot of color, music, and synchronized performances that could rival a Karan Johar film. Mehndi by the incredibly talented Mehndi with Heena adorned Sharanya’s hands while guests indulged in delicious treats by Fluffy Thoughts and an authentic Indian feast from Woodlands Restaurant.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s equal parts regal and heartwarming, take notes from Sharanya & Vidit’s extraordinary celebration.

Plymouth, MI Indian Wedding by Urban Phulkari

That's right! When you know, you know, and sometimes that means your future husband is thinking about long-term investments before you're even officially dating. This couple's journey from a chance meeting in Los Angeles to their breathtaking wedding in Michigan is nothing short of magical, with surprises, stunning decor, and dance performances that could rival Bollywood's best.

From the moment guests stepped into Nirali & Varun's wedding weekend, it was clear this was no ordinary celebration. Marigold Wedding Planners transformed each venue into a dreamscape, blending elegance with personal touches that made the weekend unforgettable. Whether it was the ethereal forest decor theme or the seamless execution of events, every detail reflected the couple's love story and vision.

The wedding ceremony occurred at St. John's Resort, with the Garden Pavilion offering a 360-degree view of Michigan's crisp autumn beauty. The sunlight streaming through the glass walls illuminated Nirali's custom Frontier Raas bridal lengha—a breathtaking ivory-white ensemble with rose gold accents that shimmered with every step she took.

Their sangeet & reception at Suburban Showplace set the tone for the festivities, with vibrant decor and performances from friends who had once been part of college dance teams. (Think: a full-fledged Bollywood showdown meets Punjabi and Gujarati fusion—because why settle for one when you can have both?) The reception brought the festivities to a grand finale, featuring an electrifying set from DJ Rohit Goswamy that kept the dance floor packed all night. And because no epic wedding weekend is complete without delicious food, Punjab Indian Cuisine and Krishna Catering delivered a feast with guests raving long after the plates were cleared.

The artistry didn't stop at decor—Amanie Mokdad and Simona Vigh worked their magic, ensuring Nirali looked flawless through every event. From soft glam to bold bridal, her hair and makeup were always on point. And let's not forget Urban Phulkari, the genius behind cinematography and photography, who captured every laugh, tear, and twirl in breathtaking detail. Their cinematography wasn't just about recording moments—it was about storytelling. Every frame was meticulously crafted to reflect the couple's emotions, from the nervous excitement before the first look to the joyous energy on the dance floor.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met at a party when I was visiting Los Angeles. He somehow knew my older brother and sister-in-law from across the country, but we had never met. We went on three dates within 5 days of meeting, and when I went back to the other side of the country, we kept talking and meeting every month for 5 months. I knew he was the one when he attended my graduate school graduation via Zoom, and he gifted me money to open a Roth IRA before we even officially dating. We started dating a few weeks later, and in less than 2 years, we were engaged.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We were supposed to meet our friends for a double date at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, where we had our second date. I was actually asking him when he was going to propose 15 minutes before he actually got down on one knee. I genuinely had no idea! The surprises continued all night as our friends and family joined us in celebrating at the same club we first met at in Los Angeles.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning our wedding was a full combined family effort as we were planning a wedding in my home state of Michigan while living in California. I have to give my husband a shout-out because the whole process would’ve been much more difficult without his negotiating and planning skills.

I dreamt of a unique wedding venue that was different than all the ones I have typically seen in metro Detroit. Tina from Marigold Planners heard our families' wishes and helped us find the perfect wedding venue at Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth, MI, about an hour away from where I grew up. The Garden Pavilion, in my opinion, was perfect for someone seeking a simple but elegant canvas for a wedding. The 360 glass walls of the pavilion allowed guests to enjoy the beautiful fall morning in Michigan.

For my wedding shopping, I didn’t have the time to go to India myself for shopping so I did all my shopping from online or through the help of family in India.

My hair and make up were on point the whole weekend, thanks to Simona Vigh (hair) and Amanie Mokdad (make up). I wanted something different for each look and trusted the artists to do their job and they did a phenomenal job.

For our wedding decor theme, we chose an ethereal forest theme.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had always wanted an off-white wedding dress. I had seen a dress at Frontier raas in different materials and colors and got a custom dress made from them in an ivory-white color. When I saw the dress for the first time, I was in awe of the stunning, intricate designs and handwork and unique rose gold color accents. I couldn’t hide the details of my outfits from my fiancé, so I wanted to surprise him with at least one element of my outfit: my veil. The veil came together last minute, within 2-3 weeks before the wedding!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Being able to plan easily with our parents and fiancé.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The food and music, as well as the coordination for the weekend. Sangeet and Reception food is prepared by Punjab Cuisine, and the wedding food is prepared by Krishna Catering and Restaurant. Music by DJ Rohit Goswamy and Planning + Coordination by Marigold Wedding Planners

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The whole weekend lol

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Many of our friends and family were on college dance teams, so our sangeet was very exciting. The l dances showcased both of our unique cultures (Punjabi and Gujurati) as well as our talented friends who helped choreograph and dance the different routines.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Wedding planning can be very overwhelming and stressful, make sure you take time to enjoy the process. Try not save any big planning details until the end—3-4 weeks before the wedding is when you should start enjoying all the Pre-wedding excitement.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I am still in love with my wedding set from paisley pop. I stacked two necklaces for a fuller look, and I’m happy I chose pieces I can re-wear in the future in different ways. It was also very special for me to be able to incorporate family heirlooms into the accessories I wore.

We opted not to have wedding cake, but a dessert table spread instead for more variety. We Ended up still cutting a cake, however, as it was my husband birthday!

Sweethearts, the weekend was filled with joyful memories, beautiful traditions, and much dancing..
