Helping to make Janani and Gaurang's Indian wedding reception a dream come true is SheerRomance designing a colorful sweetheart stage and showcasing awe-inspiring floral and decor. Gary Coelho Photography catches up with our gorgeous newlyweds as they make their grand entrance in style at Southern California's Hotel Irvine. Our lady in red is enchanting with loose, flowing locks and marvelous makeup courtesy of Dolled up by Lulu. What makes our beauty stand out even more is the amazingly intricate mehndi design by Henna By Rupal's. Her manly accessory, and more importantly, soul mate for life, is quite handsome in a classic, black suit. What a terrific pair and what a great night, thanks to Agape Planning & Design. And to keep the party going strong all night long, Special Occasions DJ & Lighting kept the hits coming! Relive every moment, from start to finish in the gallery!
From the bride, on family and friends helping:
"I cannot even begin to name everyone who helped. Everyone helped. My aunts and uncles in India who bought me my wedding sari and reception gown, my aunt and uncle and cousins who flew here to be with us and brought so many essential wedding items, they come to mind first. But the most helpful people to my family were probably all the Fremont aunties and uncles, all of whom flew to Southern California a few days early so that we could put them to work. The uncles who drove to LAX, the aunties who helped my mom make our wedding garlands, the aunties who cut up all the jasmine last minute for our guests, they did so much. And I won't list our entire wedding party or all the friends who did things like choreograph and learn fifty dances, stay with me for the week, watch our dog, help us pack invitations and thank you bags, make decorations, the list goes on forever. I know that we are both just so very grateful to be surrounded by such kind, big-hearted people."
On the first dance:
"Our first dance was to "Everytime I Close my Eyes" by Babyface. We both love the old school music and say frequently to each other (as old fogies do) that music just isn't the same anymore. It's true, though. We both loved hearing all the "awwws" from our guests as the music started playing, because we know this is an old favorite for so many of our friends."
On a special moment:
"One of the most special moments of the day was during my first dance with my dad, when he said to me, "Gosh, I never thought I would be here, in America, dancing at a wedding this beautiful with my daughter in front of all these people." My dad is a pretty simple, happy guy who has a heart of gold. Hearing that from him really caused it to hit home that this whole experience must have been so different and new for him as an immigrant parent who came from humble means back in India."
Additional details:
"I just wish desperately I could do it all again. As crazy as the planning process was, that wedding week was just magical. Everyone was so full of love and happiness and I really believe that our guests had a good time (even if it was a BILLION degrees during the ceremony). Future brides of 300+ weddings, my only advice to you is to hire a coordinator. None of the wedding would have been possible without our amazing coordinator, Ashley Powell at Agape Planning and her awesome team. Seriously, get a coordinator. You will NOT regret it."
Have a great rest of your day, dolls!
