Welcome to another brilliant day of Indian weddings! Today we're catching a flight to Canada where bride Reeti is celebrating her upcoming nuptials with a festive mehndi night. Dressed in a fabulous teal and scarlet ensemble, she is bright and beautiful and her long braid tied back with fragrant florals is as pretty as can be! Her intricate henna designs are a swirling sensation and what's even sweeter is that she based them on details from her mother's wedding mehndi—how adorable! It's those special touches that really add to an event! Henley Portraiture is on the scene snapping away while this beauty enjoys every moment of her super soiree. I'm smiling right along as I make my way to the gallery for more posh pics!
From the bride: "We met through common friends and had known each other for over 5 years. Despite being around each other, we never got to know each other. On the New Years Eve of 2010, we crossed paths and ended up talking the whole evening. We haven't stopped talking since then!
Even though we already had our Roka ceremony in Jan 2012, Ankur knew I always wanted to be proposed to. He knows how super close I am to my extended family but it's hard for us all to be together as they live in Europe.
In Aug 2012, we planned a trip to Germany where my family lives and within 24 hours, my family, cousins, and us decided to go on a road trip to Prague for the weekend. The road trip was AMAZING especially since we all were together after 3 years.
Prague was beautiful with so much culture and history in every corner - I was in awe. On the 2nd day, we went up to this castle that is known to have the most beautiful view of the whole city. Ankur told me he's going to go look for a cafe while I should make my way to the top and he will meet me there. I went up and saw my cousins and family there. They told me to go to the balcony where he was standing with a huge grin on his face and asked me to go on a walk with him. 5 mins later, we were standing at the corner where you can see the whole city and just as we were about to leave, he went on his one knee and asked me for my hand and I said YES!
Seeing my whole family behind him just made the moment so much more special as I loved the fact that they all were there to share that moment with me :)"
This beauty is about to get all dolled up! See you in the bridal suite!
