From the bride:

"After dating for 4 years, Jared FINALLY proposed. He planned an 'early valentine’s day' trip back to Atlantic City, where it all began. New Jersey was forecasted to get substantial rain/snow storm so we diced our scheduled half day of work and headed up early. Once we arrived the rain and winds where in full force. WE could barely open the car doors and the Revel Hotel Casino was using sand bags to keep water away from doorways. Finally, once we got checked in, I took a little nap before our dinner reservation. I got ready and he kept on telling me to wear something cute, and I kept thinking, don’t I look cute all the time?! We walked around the shops before dinner, I had my eye on the cross body Louis Vuitton I was dying to see in person and he kept looking at his watch and his upper lip was super sweaty I kept asking him if he was okay but he just brushed it off saying it was humid in the place. Finally he told me he wanted to take me somewhere before dinner so we started walking to this large open area where it appears to be a water show going on, and we caught the tail end of it. We waited for the next show and to his luck, the next show malfunctioned and the water wasn’t working but the lights and sound were but that wasn’t going to stop him!! We watched the malfunctioned show and he kept talking to himself that he couldn’t believe this was happening and I couldn’t believe he was making such a big deal out of it! AND then it happened; he got down on one knee and before he could get any words out, I blurted 'Are you seriously proposing to me?!' YUP he proposed, despite the glitch and the storm, we both laughed and he was relieved, it was the sweetest thing ever! He wasn’t going to let anything stop him! We headed to dinner at Buddakan shortly after where we sipped on champagne and called our family and friend and took to take it all in. After dinner we headed back over to the water and light show and to our good fortune it actually worked this time! It was amazing!!"

On her wedding style:

"When we sat down to really talk about our wedding style and start the process, we both wanted a few core things during our wedding. Our #1 was definitely, family and friends because that’s what defines us. The 2nd thing we both wanted was a unique palette of colors, and we chose yellow, gray, and white as our theme throughout the wedding process. I know you’re probably thinking, what is the big deal, but when we were choosing our vendors, so many of the decorators didn’t seem to grasp our concept or they steered us away from our palette of colors. So when we met Ravi Verma, from Wedding Design, we fell in love with his enthusiasm and passion for doing something completely new he has never done before. It was so exciting for us, and a breath of fresh air. We loved Ravi, from the moment we met him, he was personable, attentive, and wanted to make our wedding perfect for us. We had a 12-foot mandap with multi-layer of yellow and white fabric draped to the floor, with a jaw dropping rotating 4-piece chandelier. There was crystals hanging from the structure in perfect coordination, it was amazing and breathtaking."

On choosing her bridal style:

"I had initially planned on going to India for all my wedding shopping, with my mom and sister. My Dad and fiancé insisted I just check out Edison since its only 25 mins from my parents’ house in NJ. Just to appease them I went, I didn’t even take my Mom with me since I knew I wouldn’t find anything, I took my best friend, Maid of Honor and my Fiancé. The 1st store I walked into and the 3rd outfit I tried on, WAS THE ONE! I thought this is impossible, it was sort of bizarre the outfit fit me like a glove and did not need one alternation it was really hard for me to believe I found the dress! I wasn’t sure what to do but I knew I couldn’t get it that day since I didn’t have my Mom with me. Of course I had to do my homework and visit all the other stores in the area but nothing compared. The very next day, Sunday, my parents, fiancé, and Maid of Honor and I all happened to be going to the Dulhan Expo in New Jersey, we probably spent a few hours walking around and talking to various vendors. Towards the end of the Expo I was just finishing up with the last few vendors in the last row and I was talking to a travel agent and in the corner of my eye I saw the same woman who helped me yesterday at the store with THE OUTFIT, mid-sentence, I ran and literally hugged her! I knew then I WAS getting that outfit and it was a sign from GOD. She didn’t have MY outfit that day with her but she did promise to save it for me until next week even though they don’t ever do that. The entire drive back to DC I was dreaming of my wedding dress, thinking until we meet again. Hehe Thank you Nazarana in Edison, NJ and especially Priti for always taking care of me! This was the very 1st purchase for the wedding, even before we picked out the venue I had my wedding outfit. After purchasing my wedding outfit, I went back several months later and bought my engagement outfit from there too.

Aside from finding my perfect outfit, I had such a good time finding my bridesmaid outfits too! For the wedding they are wore custom made yellow and maroon saris, my sister and I designed. For the reception the ladies wore floor length Vera Wang dresses! Each of them a different size and height, all of them glowed head to toe!"

See you super soon for a sweet portrait sesh!
