It's a beautiful Thursday, my darlings, and to celebrate this summery morning we're snagging a front row seat at this spectacular Florida wedding at the Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park! Before she makes her dazzling debut, our Maharani slips into a stunning scarlet and ocean-blue lengha choli, slides on sparkling bangles, and grabs hold of a dreamy orchid bridal bouquet. Gorgeous! Soon she's posing for prettier-than-pretty portraits with Sona Photography, and in every pic, her tikka is twinkling and her smile is beaming. I can't wait to see her come down the aisle! Until she's on her way to the mandap, I'll be admiring all the deets in the gallery!
From the bride, on knowing she'd met 'the one':
"I met Rajan first through mutual friends back in 2009. We really didn't know at the time that it was going to be more than an acquaintance. It was more like met each other, added each other on Facebook and that was it. Fast forward several years and we are now in 2011. Rajan and I were open to the idea of finding someone to share the love of football, TV shows, etc. with. Our mutual friends Anjani and Margi were telling us on separate ends to actually talk to each other and take it to more than just friendship. Rajan and I had been talking online for several months, but only as friends. Our mutual friends played matchmaker and convinced both of us to consider it. With him being in Louisville, Kentucky and me being in Tampa, Florida it was tough for us to see if we really should take it to the next level. Rajan decides to fly down to Tampa to meet up and 'hang out' at Busch Gardens. I took it literally and did not think anything of it more than just us hanging out and getting to know each other. He picked me up in the morning and to my surprise he had one single rose and a small gift from an inside joke. That is when I knew he was the one. Just the sweet gesture of him giving me a small inside joke gift, left a huge impression on me."
From the groom, on proposing:
"For my proposal, I wanted to do something memorable, yet simple because we are both easy-going. I worked for a couple of months to put together a video slide show with over 120 reasons why I love Vanisha. I then stored the slide show on an iPod, and flew down to Florida to surprise her. The day I arrived, Vanisha was at work, and my wonderful future mother-in-law helped me to plan out the surpise. We hid the iPod in an envelope with a sign that said 'Press Play,' and dressed up the envelope to make it look like I had shipped it down. After placing the package on her bed, I then patiently waited for her to get off work and drive home... that 2-hour wait felt like an eternity...
When Vanisha eventually arrived at home, I was hiding in a seperate room and overheard her open the package and start playing the slide show. When the slide show got close to the end, I made my way out to meet Vanisha, got on one knee, showed her the engagement ring, and gave my proposal speech. With all the excitement (and tears), Vanisha did not hear a word I said, and yet she had the presence of mind to say 'Yes' at the right time."
Come right back cuz this beauty is about to start a photo shoot with her hubby-to-be!
