It's been a week of love and laughter, Maharanis, and the fun isn't over yet! We've got a day filled with fabulous wedding films and to kick off the festivities is this jubilant feature from Dream Wedding Media. If you love bright flowers, big smiles, and Bollywood dance moves, then you will adore this event from start to finish. With a traditional ceremony under a breezy blue and white mandap followed by a blissful peacock-inspired reception, this celebration is just too much fun! I am a huge fan of our Maharani's glittering red, gold, and green lengha that has sparkle for days, and her bridal jewelry is as pretty as can be (love that glimmering gold nath!). I don't know about you, but when I see a film with this much pizzazz, I have to watch it twice! Happy viewing, darlings!
From the bride, on meeting her Raja and knowing he was "the one":
"My husband's aunt owns a boutique in Raleigh and I happened to be shopping there! She was the one who asked him to pursue me after having 'detailed conversations' with me. We started chatting, talking, meeting and before we knew it, we tied the knot!"
On their engagement:
"The proposal was a complete shock as it came much sooner than I had expected. We were on a mini vacation in Lake Tahoe and we had just returned from jet skiing—I was exhausted and looked awful. He started asking all of these serious questions about life, goals, etc., and I was having a total disinterested conversation. Just then all of a sudden (just before i was at the edge of telling him to cut it), I turned around and he was holding the ring. my most memorable moment."
On her wedding style:
"Peacocks. I am religious and have followed Lord Krishna throughout my life. When i was deciding colors. I knew there had to be some inspiration of Krishna. I decided for the peacock palette."
On the planning process:
"I enjoyed planning the food and decorations the most."
On choosing her bridal look:
"I did spend an awful amount of time on the net, however, when I went to Mumbai to shop for my lehenga, it was a whole different world of design. I knew it was the one in the first look."
On a memorable moment:
"My dad's speech at the reception. Everyone cried."
On their first dance:
"We did not have a first dance!! There wasn't enough time to practice and I couldn't convince him to dance!"
On her hair and makeup:
"I did have a style in mind. I had 3 looks on my special day and I worked with her for each of those looks. - 1 wedding, 1 reception, 1 dance party."
On friends and family helping out:
"Family and friends helped a ton the day of. The wedding would have been a disaster without their help—pick ups and drop offs, managing tough guests, flowers, my getting ready, and many many other things."
On other details:
"We were working on a tight budget, but I did want to have a dream wedding at the same time. I am happy about the fact that we were able to stay within our budget (some what) by making intelligent choices. It was a crazy day and I wish I could remember smaller details, but I was just glad to see my loved ones there."
Truly fabulous! See you in just a bit!
