Looking bright and beautiful in a brilliant red sharara (which belonged to her mother!), our bride is all things gorgeous as she walks down the aisle at her radiant outdoor ceremony. The mandap by Elegant Affairs Inc. is as exquisite as can be with plush white roses, and the tranquil waters of the Long Island Sound are a picturesque backdrop. KSD Weddings circles the scene snapping pics of this treasured day while guests look on with love. Such a dream! Before we get to the luxury reception, our darling duo is gonna switch into some fabulous evening fits and we're gonna sneak a peek at the after party. But first, I'm doing a lap through the gallery!
From the bride:
"We had a traditional Sikh outdoor ceremony overlooking the Long Island Sound followed by cocktails in the mansion, followed by a big dinner and dancing bash in a tent.
For the traditional Sikh outdoor ceremony, we wanted to keep everything very classically elegant and simple—from the floral arrangements to my dress, which was my mother's wedding 'sharara' from 1977.
As the sun set and we entered the post-wedding festivities, we wanted to go a bit more glam. From the live band playing our favorite big band tunes to the candle-lit floral arrangements. Our attire also reflected the change in mood and style as the evening progressed."
On planning the event:
"It was very magical to walk down the aisle to the Sikh kirtan. And that was followed by a classical Indian sitar and tabla trio in the mansion during cocktail hour. And then of course, a great band playing all of our favorite tunes from Frank Sinatra to Beyonce!"
On their venue:
"The venue we selected is actually half a mile down the beach from where my parents live, and where I grew up. I used to run around the Guggenheim mansion when I was in high school, and play hide and seek there when I was even younger than that!"
Come with me for a behind-the-scenes peek at the luxe reception!
