Mehndi Maharani 2014 Finalist: Mendhi By Janni

Our last finalist of the day is Janni Patel of Mendhi By Janni. She's based in the United States and has an impressive portfolio of work that will blow you away. When we asked her what she loved most about working with mehndi, this is what she had to say:

"Everything! From the smell of the paste to the different colors of the stain-the entire process is an addiction. I love that mehndi is an outlet for expression. I can be delicate and subtle with thin intricate lines, or bold and courageous with thick dense lines. I get to express myself in a creative way using a medium not often used as a form of art.

What intrigues me the most about mehndi is that it is always evolving and there's always something new to learn. To be able to work with my clients and to overcome challenges in designs and concepts to suit their personalities while still creating a piece that reflects my style has helped me become a better artist and individual.

I love that mehndi enables me to play such a significant role in a person's life. Even if it's only for those few short weeks, the significance behind the design & story can touch one's soul for a lifetime." -Janni Patel
