What's radiantly red, lovely lace and perfectly pearly? Today's bride! Check out these pics of our Maharani getting ready for her walk down the aisle. Joseph Kang Photography snapped up some great detailed shots of this bride's vibrant red bridal lengha and all the amazing little detailed finishing touches for her wedding day look. I absolutely love her pearls and earrings. They've got a real original design with some traditional touches going on. We'll head over to the ceremony in just a bit, but before we do that, get acquainted with the groom and his groomsmen at the baraat in the gallery.
The bride, on how her groom's proposal:
"So before I start the story I have to mention that our favorite movie is the Disney movie Up. We dressed up as Carl and Ellie for Halloween and have watched it hundreds of times. So on the day of the proposal I was sitting at lunch with my family when my sister handed me a hand written note from Chris. It had a sweet message, recapped our 6 years together and told me there would be a limo there to pick me up from lunch and he would see me later! As I got into the limo, I noticed there was a dress waiting for me to change into, yellow (my favorite color) flowers all over and the most special was the Adventure Book-from the movie Up that he had custom made to tell our story. The day continued on with a nail appointment for the perfect manicure, a wine tasting for my mom, sister and I to enjoy and finally to pick our some new shoes. I hurried home to get ready and changed into my beautiful dress he had picked out as the limo waited to take me away. As our limo slowed down I saw my fiance standing at the end of the bridge above the river near my house waiting for me. He got down on one knee and popped the question and the rest is history!"
On choosing her lengha:
"Choosing my lengha was probably one of my most favorite parts about the wedding. I like the traditional bright red but wanted something a little different. Once I walked into the lengha store and saw this lipstick red fabric with threadwork detail I knew it was perfect! I went about designing this one of a kind lengha with everything I had always wanted! I knew I wanted it to be simple but intricate. I handpicked the border on the lengha, had them add extra can-can to make it flow just right, and hoped for the best. I actually didn't get my wedding lengha until the week before my wedding since my grandparents were bringing it from India with them. I had numerous conversations with the designer-he would Whatsapp me pictures and I would reply back asking to add more can-can or change the border. I was so nervous for the day it was to arrive because I knew I wouldn't have a lot of time to make changes. However, as soon as my Nani took my lengha out of the suitcase where it was so neatly packed-I was in love. It was EXACTLY what I had been dreaming about and I couldn't wait to wear it for my special day <3"
