Hey dolls, you know what today is right? It's Filmy Friday, of course! First up, we're heading to Long Island, New York for this lively highlight reel of an Indian wedding that takes place at the prestigious Hyatt Regency Long Island, courtesy of Live Picture Studios & Ajit Singh Photography! I know you are going to be just as excited as I am because the one and only Design House Decor planned and designed this whole event. If you like white decor like I do, wait until you see the hanging orchids at the reception. Drop. Dead. Gorgeous. Our bride looks spectacular in her dream come true red & gold lengha by none other than, wait for it...Sabyasachi!!! And, what better compliment for Bridal Rang by Samiha, than her client saying that she made her feel like a "modern-day Maharani!" Nanking served as the caterer for the fun-filled event. Watch this short film and join in on all the terrific toasts, engaging entertainment and of course, to celebrate this adorable couple's journey to matrimony!
From the bride, on how they met:
"We met each other in our sophomore year of college. One day we kept running into each other all day and ended up sitting next to each other on the train. The next day, he messaged me on a social media site and and we decided to spend our break together. I knew he was the man I wanted to marry because he's always on my mind and sometimes I smile to myself when I think about him even after 8 years together."
On the wedding style:
"We wanted a modern and a traditional wedding, it's difficult mix them both. For a desi wedding red is traditional so we wanted to incorporate red in everything. We thought red would go great with gold and black to give it a glamorous look."
On the planning:
"I enjoyed every single moment of our planning process from shopping to negotiating. My favorite part was food tasting, I loved eating at the best Indian restaurants in NYC."
On the makeup:
"I wanted a light face makeup but dark eye makeup. Samiha from Bridalrang By Samiha was just amazing, she listened to me and also gave me her input so I could look like a modern day Maharani."
On the lengha:
"I spent about countless hours a day on the internet trying to find that perfect dress. After, watching Band Baja Bride on NDTV, I knew I wanted to be a Sabyasachi bride. It was very difficult to find a designer dress in New York but I contacted Sabyasachi store in Kolkata directly and was able to purchase my dream wedding lengha."
There were so many magical moments before and during our wedding but the one that stands out is our first look. Masud and I both started tearing up after seeing each other. It was a moment we waited for 8 years and after a year of planning the day was finally here."
On a special moment:
"There were so many magical moments before and during our wedding but the one that stands out is our first look. Masud and I both started tearing up after seeing each other. It was a moment we waited for 8 years and after a year of planning the day was finally here."
On help from fam & friends:
"Without our family and friends nothing would have been possible. Our families worked countless hours to make sure everything was perfect even when I was acting a true Bridezilla."
That's hilarious! Another Filmy coming right up!
