From the bride, on the wedding style:
"Before the planning even started, we had a date in mind: 12/13/14. As the last consecutive date in the century, we knew we wanted our events to be extraordinary. Being gujarati, we wanted to host a grab the night before the ceremony, but with a diverse group of friends we decided to fuse ideas and held a bright and colorful Garba/Sangeet night during which we played garba and dandiya but we also played Bollywood hits for a less structured form of dance. The wedding was selected to be the traditional element of our wedding weekend. We kept decor fairly simple and maintained a theme of red white and gold. Fortunately, our wedding date fell in winter allowing us to pursue a Winter Wonderland theme for our reception."
On planning:
"Our favorite parts of planning the wedding were cake tasting, food tasting, and designing our outfits. Most importantly, the best part of it all was seeing how it all came together that weekend- picture perfect!"
On fam & friends helping:
"Our friends and family went above and beyond to help us make sure each event went smoothly. We had family members in India design our wedding invitations, coordinate sending certain items needed for the ceremony, and rushed back and forth to ensure they had visas and could attend the wedding. Our family in the US put up with us when we were most stressed and helped us coordinate our events, the decor... really anything and everything we found ourselves struggling with!"
