Welcome back, ladies! I must say that I love outdoor portrait shoots! The bridal fashions always shine bright in the natural light as does the beauty of our lovely Maharanis. And of course, Salwa Photography reaffirms that with this breathtaking collection of portraits of the gorgeous couple. Sonal's extravagant red and gold lengha is a show-stopper for sure, right girls?! Harjot looks quite dapper in his tailored black suit complete with a black bowtie with white polka-dots. It's awesome to think this couple met on a blind date and a natural disaster brought them back together. They were definitely destined to be! What a romantic story and what a charming couple. If you can't get enough of this dazzling duo, check out even more portraits in the gallery!
From the bride, on how they met:
"Harjot and I met in the summer of 2012 on a blind date set up through mutual friends. I was living in Miami at the time and he was living in New York and we met in New York when I had flown up to visit my parents. My friends had kept bugging me to meet this “handsome funny Punjabi guy” who they thought would be a good match for me and who would keep me on my toes. I decided to give it a shot and figured that the worst that could happen was a few hours wasted and the best that could happen was that I would have a fun night out in Manhattan with possibly a cool friendly person. I don’t think either of us expected anything much out of the blind date before actually meeting. To my surprise we had a fantastic time together and he kept me talking and laughing the whole night. He seemed respectful, cultured and grounded, yet also had a goofy, modern, adventurous and spontaneous air about him. I found it strange that I wasn’t nervous or on edge to be talking to a complete stranger. We hung out a few more times during my stay in New York before I went back home to Miami. We kept in touch often but went about our respective daily lives in our different states. As cliché as it sounds, sometimes it’s meant to be and we were destined to be. A month later, my place in Miami was hit with a hurricane and I had to move immediately due to renovations. I had missed my parents and family in NY too much and decided that even though Miami had been a fantastic experience I needed to move back to New York where I had grown up. As soon as I became a New Yorker once again, Harjot & I picked up right where we left off and developed that first blind date into a pattern of dating regularly which turned into a strong exclusive relationship which ultimately paved the path to a marriage and hopefully one that will continue to develop and take us to new heights…"
