From the bride, on how they met:
"We met on the first day of move-in at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. We lived in the same dormitory and immediately became good friends. I quickly realized what an incredible person he was and how comfortable we were together. A year later, we started dating and it was magic. The first time we held hands I knew he was the one. It just felt right!"
On the proposal:
"We were living long distance in Chicago and New York City while we each finished graduate school. He had the idea to go visit our college friends in Atlanta for the weekend. While there, he had some excuse to go off with the guys for the afternoon so a girlfriend took me out to a fancy dinner. After dinner, my friend drove me through Emory University where Aalap and I met and dropped me off, to my surprise, at my old dormitory. She handed me an envelope with a picture of a gold nugget and a clue to the next location. I went to 6 locations around campus on a scavenger hunt and each location had a new card and picture. The pictures were of an engagement ring being made by Aalap! He hand-made my ring at a studio in NYC. Finally I arrived at the last location which was the recreational fields on Emory Campus where Aalap and I spent most of time playing ultimate frisbee together. He proposed in the middle of the field during sunset and after I said yes, all of our frisbee team mates and friends came running out of the woods with champagne to celebrate. It was the best surprise of my life!"
