Happy Friday, friends! We're bringing you another trio of the most terrific wedding films, starting off with this unforgettable gem shot and edited by the talented team at Joseph Minasi Weddings. This first breathtaking reel starts off with a few heartfelt words from the groom, Bigil, to his bride, Benita. These two lovebirds have always known that they were meant to be, and we are so glad they were right! Premini Events planned their dream Indian wedding in Nashville, Tennessee, starting with a magnificent mehndi night in one of Gaylord Opryland Resort's incredible atriums, which was divinely decked out in some out-of-this-world floral and decor by industry faves, Weddings InStyle. You'll definitely feel the excitement and joy as Maharani Benita's bridal party sees her in her classic, white Vera Wang gown. Her hair and makeup, by the beauty experts from the Luxe Beauty Group, helped her create a clean and sophisticated look that's simply flawless. Following her and Bigil's gorgeous church wedding, the happy pair celebrated in true Maharani style with family and friends at their sensational reception celebration, which featured some heart pumping entertainment by DJ Suhel. Check it all out for yourself!
The bride, on how she met the Raja of her dreams:
"Bigil, my husband, and I have known each other for almost our entire lives. He was about 8 years old when he started attending my church. At first even at that young age, we caught each other's eye, but didn't think much of it as we were very young. As we started getting older, we started seeing each other more at church youth activities and almost immediately felt comfortable and excited to see each other. We both knew we met the "one" and our bond was strong. And each year, surprisingly our love would grow stronger! Since the beginning of time, I knew he was the "one" for me. All I needed to see was his smile and that was enough for me!"
On her Raja's super romantic proposal:
"Bigil has always been creative and knows the cutest ways to show me he loves me! So, since we were about 16 yrs old, I could not wait for the day he would propose. Although we both live in Philadelphia, PA, Bigil was setting up for the proposal to happen in Naples, Florida! He knew I loved the beach! When we arrived to the park that we were to have "dinner," he pulled out a scarf and blind folded me! He picked me up and carried me through the park and all the way through to the ocean. At that time, he took off the blind fold and there I was standing in the beach with bright blue waters nearby with a white tent and beautiful flower petals all around us. Still smiling, he asked me to look up to the sky, and there was a plane flying by with a banner reading, "Benita, Will you marry me"? It was awesome and then he knelt down, told me about how long he had waited for this moment, and proposed! It was simply amazing!"
On her wedding style:
"As we began thinking about our wedding style, we knew it would be all about my favorite colors, red, pink, and white, and then of course, the bling. The theme had to simply bring out the love and fun Bigil and I have together! With being in love for so many years, we thought it was best to have the theme as "We Found Love Right Where We Are". Because truly our love was there from the beginning. Priya and her team at Premini Events really helped bring all my wishes into existence as they planned all the events!"
On what she enjoyed most about planning her dream wedding:
"The most fun was bringing my friends and family together. There were so many surprise performances and it showed how much dedication and time our family put together to surprise each other."
On picking out her dream wedding fashions:
"Although I spent hours looking through Bridal magazines and searching the internet, I bought the very first dress I tried on at Vera Wang! For the rest of our events, we worked with designers to make sure our outfits were one of a kind. We wanted our attire to be unique and match well with each other. We felt like celebrities as people in the hotel approached us and asked to take pictures! We were blessed!"
On her most memorable wedding day moment:
"The most magical moment was when my father was walking me down the aisle and I saw Bigil's face at the end of the aisle. It was the happiest moment of my life. It felt "right". It felt safe. And I felt most blessed as my father was by my side leading me to Bigil in God's holy place."
On her and her Raja's first dance song selection:
"Our first dance was "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. This was very appropriate as the theme of our wedding was "We Found Love Right Where We Are." We had countless hours of practice with our professional ballroom dancer, Jacklyn Shapiro. Jackie coordinated a well-choreographed dance for Our Song."
On her wedding day hair and makeup:
"My hair and makeup team were simply the best! I am someone who usually hates getting their hair and makeup done professionally, as it is very different from my natural self. However, Luxe Beauty made me look, and more importantly feel, beautiful! I was able to simply relax and have full confidence in my team because they were awesome!"
On the role the family and friends played:
"My wedding would not have been near a success without my family and friends. They did so many surprise performances and kept the crowd entertained throughout the celebratory nights! The bridal party was beyond amazing and really helped us bring everything together. We felt so much love from everyone the whole weekend!"
On other notable wedding memories:
"Our wedding was amazing as we decided to do a destination wedding at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN. The venue is above and beyond everything we could have asked for. It was so beautiful, especially our Mehindi Night! We had it set up at one of the Atrium's in the resort with waterfalls to our back and boats floating inside the resort around us! In our pictures, we look like we are at an outside venue, but it was all inside with string lights and beautiful fountains! We also had a station called, Benita's Boutique, with colorful bangles and bindis for our guests to take back home!
Our Wedding Reception Cake was also something quite unique! As the wonderful husband he is, Bigil was happy to let me do the final choices for our decorations and color scheme, so it was without doubt that I wanted to give him the one thing he wanted for the wedding - his half and half cake. While one side of the cake was designed by our talented cake decorator, my sister and I, the other side was all up to Bigil! He had half the cake black with the logo of Batman, his secret identity and favorite superhero, overlooking Gotham City!"
Stick around for more Filmy Friday fabulousness!
