You may want to grab a Kleenex for our final Indian wedding film, my dears. Your hearts are about to get hit with so many loving feels... There's not much in this world that is greater than the love a parent has for their child, and you'll definitely feel the ultimate adoration Maharani Shama's mother and father have for their only daughter. WalkOnWater Productions filmed and edited this sensational highlight reel at the incredible Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel, where our flawless Indian bride wed the Raja of her dreams, Chintan. From some of the most charming pre-wedding moments to the ceremony, every last second of this film is sure to make you smile. Maharani Shama has such fab style, donning a stunning red, green and cream-colored lengha sari as she got ties the knot (not to mention two other incredible looks you'll get a good glimpse at!), her hair and makeup the picture of perfection. You simply can't miss this one, my dears. It's perfect.
Maharani Shama, on meeting the Raja of her dreams:
"A trip to the movies with friends became a day that changed my life. We didn't know each other and he was new to the group as the 'new guy with a British accent". We connected via AOL messenger a few days later, and quickly realized he was the one. Over the years I've always looked back on that regular day with much fondness."
On Raja Chintan's romantic proposal:
"Like the movie My Name Is Khan, I told Chintan to show me Atlanta like I've never seen before. I knew he'd make it extra special and he surprised me by proposing on top of The W Hotel helipad with the Atlanta skyline in the backdrop over a clear blue sky just before sunset. Friends were on hand to capture the moment when he proposed on a bed of rose petals with the perfect ring."
On her wedding style:
"Chintan and I love the traditional look so we wanted a classic wooden mandap with a traditional color palette. Because of my love of peacocks, we wanted a subtle peacock theme. This inspired the peacock accents for every event, from Mehndi night to the Wedding. One of my favorite peacock accents were the signs we made on peacock feather fans for my bridesmaids to carry down the aisle stating: Wait Until You See Her."
On what she enjoyed most about planning her dream wedding:
"I enjoyed the process of selecting our vendors and theme. All of our vendors are so kind and supportive that working with them was a delight. On another note, I loved shopping for Chintan and my outfits!"
On picking out her wedding lenghas:
"I spent many hours on Pinterest searching for inspiration for my Garba outfit since we did not have a Reception. My search was focused on peacock colors like blues and purples. I worked with Virtues, a designer in Ahmdebad, India for my Garba outfit. As for my wedding outfit, I've wanted to wear a traditional panetar sari for as long as I can remember. Luckily I found the sari I had been dreaming about for years and worked with designer Purva Couture for the perfect veil."
On her most memorable wedding moment:
"Although we had our First Look during our photo session prior to the wedding ceremony, the moment we saw each other in the mandap was most magical. After all these years, Chintan and I were finally becoming husband and wife!
On a laughable note, I think the funniest part of the wedding was when I ran to sit down in the chair first without realizing I was dragging Chintan behind me."
On her hair and makeup:
"Once again, Pinterest was my best friend during the planning process. I spent many hours trying to find examples of the styles I had in my mind. After picking a few examples, my makeup artist and hair stylist successfully conjured up what I had imagined. I've always been told I had an old Bollywood look so I was searching for hair designs in that style."
On the role family and friends played:
"This wedding would not have been a success without our family and friends. I was trying to plan this wedding in Atlanta while living in Chicago and without a wedding planner. After I selected and booked our vendors, Mom and Dad finalized the venue and menus for all of the events as well as creating teams to make sure every aspect of the wedding flowed smoothly. Mom's team cooked Indian snacks for three months prior to the wedding week for all of our guests and prepared welcome bags for every hotel room as well as small favors for the events. Mom amazingly pre-pleated, pinned and steamed all of my bridesmaids, aunts, and my sarees so we could get dressed effortlessly! Dad's team organized the distribution of favors and event set up. My parents really made this wedding possible!"
