There's nothing quite as exciting as a first look on your wedding day, and we're about to get an exclusive look at Maharani Anjali's big reveal to Raja Jay at the The Westin Jersey City Newport on their big day! To make sure her makeup was picture perfect and not a hair on her head was out of place, today's Indian bride called on The Pro Beauty Academy. Once she put on her incredible red lengha and brilliant gold jewelry set, it was time to meet up with her hubby-to-be, and these candid captures of those moments by Lightyear Studio will steal your heart. Joining in on the photo shoot fun was the charmingly beaming wedding bunch — and wait until you see the bridal party's sensational purple and lime saris! We can't wait to share the details from Anjali and Jay's Indian wedding ceremony with you next, but before we dive into all of those exceptional highlights, make sure to visit the complete gallery for more exclusive portraits! You can also read the romantic proposal story after the jump!

Maharani Anjali on her Raja's romantic proposal:

"Jay and I were just walking along the Hudson river one night, on our way to a rooftop lounge that I suggested. He was about to leave New York to move to Chicago, so we were trying to do New York things leading up to the move. All of a sudden, he starts getting really sweet and emotional, gets down on one knee, and proposes right on the water! One of my friends (who is also a photographer), popped out of nowhere and started snapping away to capture the moment. Jay then said he made a reservation for us at another lounge (not the one I suggested), so we headed there, where all of our closest friends were waiting to celebrate! Jay orchestrated the entire surprise, and even got my best friend to fly up from Dallas for the evening!"

On the search for her dream wedding lengha(s):

"I definitely spent hours on Pinterest, and pinned a ton of outfit ideas! However, when I got to India, we went to a select few boutiques that we had researched previously by asking friends that have already gone through the experience. Within four days, I had selected all of my outfits - being at the boutiques I always gravitated to the same type of outfits. Of all my outfits, my favorite was my reception outfit - it sort of had a soft floral theme as well (but the pattern was light and not too prominent)."

On her hair and makeup:

"I showed my specialist some of my Pinterest pins to give her an idea of what I liked, but she definitely modified those looks a bit. I was 100% okay with it and told her to go for what she thought looked good, because I trusted her. She did a great job, and a ton of people have been asking me for her contact info for their weddings!"

Stick around to see this adorable duo tie the knot!
