Sachi Anand Photography met up with today's newlyweds, Shivani and Niral, for a dreamy reception portrait session before they hit the post-ceremony space at the Overland Park Marriott for the party of a lifetime — DJ'd by the remarkably talented Desi Junction DJsDrish Couture Events planned and designed the most contemporarily elegant soirée for the lovebirds, featuring floral and decor details by Studio Dan Meiners that reflect Shivani's modern Maharani style and a fabulous, five-tier wedding cake topped with fresh roses. The blushing Indian bride looked glamorously graceful in her pink and gold reception lengha, and Raja Niral knocked it out of the park with his finely tailored black tux and complementary bow tie. If you haven't already seen the happy couple's wedding film by Colorblind Production, you can watch it here, but don't forget, there's still plenty more for you to see from this extraordinary Indian wedding celebration in Overland Park, Kansas, and you can revel in all of those delightful details in the complete gallery!

Maharani Shivani, on her and Raja Niral's first dance:

"When it came time to choose our first dance song, Niral and I quickly realized that we didn't really have a "special song." We both had songs that we loved, but there wasn't one that particularly stood out to us! We ultimately decided on Ed Shereen's "Thinking Out Loud" which was a little cliche, and most likely overdone, but when it came down to the lyrics, Niral and I could truly relate. We did about a minute and a half of that song, and then surprised our guests by breaking out into Uptown Funk which we (and our guests) had a lot of fun with!"

On the role her family and friends played in making her event extra special:

"Family and friends on both sides were incredibly helpful with the wedding. From creating and building the Mendhi and Welcome Dinner decor, to the Aunties' cooking the snacks that we shared with all the guests when they arrived at the hotel, to having meetings with all the Uncles who had experience organizing all the meals from the back end, our family and friends helped make our wedding such a dream! Without them (and of course our fabulous vendors and wedding planner), there's no way everything would have gone as smoothly as they did at every single event, or looked as wonderful as they did at every event!"

We're so thrilled for you and Niral, Shivani! Congrats, and kisses from the Maharani Weddings team!
