You can count on captivating decor details when Elegant Affairs has a hand in an event, and today's Indian wedding wonder at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson, planned by Premini Events, is no exception! Damion Edwards Photography captured these stellar reception highlight from newlyweds, Shefali and Jacob's, post-ceremony celebration, where the happy couple looked absolutely amazing! The blushing Indian bride dazzled in a cream and gold reception lengha, her hair, makeup and jewelry the epitome of understated elegance. By Shefali's side, Raja Jacob was dashing as can be in his handsomely-tailored tuxedo, and together the adorable duo are a match made in heaven. We love the magical twinkle of tea lights and violet rosettes projected onto the walls, and can't get enough of all those delicate tabletop decorations! The newlyweds' sweetheart stage was dripping with contemporary flare that we instantly fell in love with, and you can get a closer look at it all in the complete gallery!
Maharani Shefali, on her reception style:
"The reception was an event that truly took my breath away. We incorporated so many touches that I do not even know where to start. I love flowers so we wanted a lot of flowers at every table. Our flower arrangements were shaped like clouds and had halos and had crystals hanging off them to add a glamorous touch. From afar the flowers look like they are floating in midair. Our goal was to have the entire room transformed into a completely different space. To do so we had a mirrored dance floor which was flown in from Texas, we had lighting on the walls that was a rose pattern to go along with the floral theme. Which was specifically reserved for our wedding and had never been used before. We completely changed the traditional cutlery and dishes by using gold flatware, gold rimmed glasses, and a gold rimmed charger plate. For food, most Indian weddings have a buffet but we did a plated Indian dinner. The guests were served a vegetarian plate with 4 different vegetarian options that were a modern twist on traditional foods. On the side we had the naan basket, accompaniments, and meat dishes. Jacob and I love dessert so we wanted the dessert to reflect our love of all things sweet. We love cookies so we had the milk and cookie shots from Dominique Ansel to offer a fun and delicious touch. I did not get a chance to see or try all of the desserts but there was an infinite amount of options. We had Indian and Italian ice creams, traditional Indian sweets, a variety of Italian and American cakes and sweets, and of course wedding cake from Carlo's Bakery!"
We'll see you tomorrow for another incredible wedding event that's sure to take your breath away!
