Maharani Sonia, on meeting the Raja of her dreams, Mehul:
"I met Mehul at a wedding in 2013; sparks instantly flew as we had our first real conversation about how much sugar he puts in his chai (I know, I know- best way to pick up a cute guy is to lecture him about his sugar intake). Ever since that day, we have been inseparable and never stop falling in love with each other's quirks."
On her Raja's romantic proposal:
"On June 26, 2015, and I was visiting Mehul in San Francisco to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. Mehul and I had plans for a romantic dinner and a night out in the city. We were a little bit early for our reservation, so we decided to take a detour and spend some time at our favorite place in SF (also the place he asked me to be his girlfriend)—Treasure Island. Mehul surprised me with an adorable photo book that recapped our entire relationship up to that point. As we enjoyed the views, we browsed the photo book and reminisced on the memories we had made together. Towards the end of the book, Mehul had to take an “emergency phone call” and step away for a minute. I continued to look at the pictures and reached the last page which was titled “Proposal”. I turned around, and there he was on one knee with a ring! He had also hired a photographer that was hiding and captured the entire proposal."
On her hair and makeup:
"Choosing the right hair and makeup artist was one of the hardest decisions I had to make when it came to wedding planning. I talked to every makeup artist in the Phoenix Valley (literally), and finally found someone I could trust 100% with my wedding look- Ahseia Adina Makeup Artist. I spoke to her extensively about what I was looking for, and even created a “beauty booklet” that detailed each makeup and hair look I wanted for each event. I worked with Ahseia very closely and did my own research by browsing multiple wedding Instagram pages to choose what I was looking for."
