I don't know about you my dears, but my Indian wedding-lovin' heart is still racing after this morning's mehndi night details from Shikha and Ameet's pre-wedding festivities, and the excitement is about to double with a look at their sangeet celebration at NOAH'S, gorgeously captured by Morgan Lynn Photography! Sobi Qazi Design House and Prashe Decor teamed up for this Desi dream wedding in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and these portraits and highlights from the sangeet are absolutely everything. The evening had a mix of traditional and contemporary details. From the golden elephants to French macaroons, we loved it all. The Indian bride of the hour dazzled with pre-wedding perfection in a flowing, hot pink outfit that looked divine on the dance floor, where she showed off her moves with Raja Ameet to some seriously celebratory beats with the help DJ Riz Entertainment! When I get back, we'll be diving heart first into the adorable duo's wedding day details! In the meantime, check out even more of their sangeet highlights in the complete gallery!
Shikha and Ameet's proposal story:
"The proposal was easily the biggest shock of Shikha's life as Ameet had been carefully planning it for months in advance and had all of Shikha's family and close friends involved. Two months prior to the date Ameet asked if Shikha would accompany him to one of his friend's weddings in his hometown of Enid. Both families were working behind the scenes to conceal the surprise and keep the occasion a secret, and it worked! On the day there was no wedding but instead Ameet had friends and family hidden in a candle lit room in the country club across the street from where he grew up. Ameet got down on one knee and the rest is history! More here!"
Maharani Shikha on her sangeet style:
"I found my outfit for the sangeet at a boutique in Delhi and it was exactly what I was looking for- a sari style dress which was comfortable to wear and dance in (a perfect fusion outifit!). For my hair and makeup I wanted a more modern fusion look, so I kept my hair down but dressed it up with a jhoomar which matched my other jewelry."
