It’s a rainy day here in San Francisco, and Bhoomi and Amar’s vibrant wedding is quite literally like a ray of sunshine! Bhoomi got a head start on her planning by starting a year and a half prior to the #Bhoomarang (seriously, that hashtag is everything!) wedding, which resulted in a beautiful and seamless shindig. With Smita Mohindra from Ethnic Essence Couture Events to plan this harmonious affair, everything looked picture perfect for the mastermind Matei Horvath Photography to photograph. Bhoomi always knew she wanted an outdoor wedding, so Hyatt Regency Long Beach worked out perfectly because “not only did they have a nice outdoor space, they had the best ballroom (she) had seen.” A traditional Haldi and Garba marked the beginning of this multi-event Gujarati bash. You can tell from one glance that the pre-wedding festivities were not just customary rituals but a bucketload of fun! Ethnic Essence Couture Events did up the outdoors of Hyatt Regency Long Beach in a mela/ carnival theme using bright hues, string lights, colorful tents, lounge seating, and Jay Bharat set up a plethora of food and drink stations. There was also a Churro bar from Ridges Churro Bar for desserts. Everyone moved indoors for the Garba segment, which was done up spectacularly. We particularly loved the ethnic murals that were painted on canvases and displayed around the ballroom. Amar totally surprised us with his rouge pink Bandhgala sherwani that he carried off so elegantly. Bhoomi’s distinctive looks for each of the events were absolutely gorgeous, but one that stood out was an iridescent mirror work blouse in a lovely shade of green. Given the costume change galore, Dolled up by Lulu did a fabulous job coordinating Bhoomi’s makeup looks to each outfit, and even styling her hair differently each time. Robles Video Productions filmed this extravaganza, while Amit Kotecha from 3D Sounds made sure the guests had a ball through and through. The end of the beginning came via lanterns that lit up the sky, and you need to check out the gallery to see how marvelous the whole thing was!
On the day of the ceremony, Enchanted Carriages brought in the party through a fun Baraat, all about which we will tell you in the next post, so do come back!
