Today’s love story has been captured so magically by Mari Harsan, and in this post we’ll be covering the breathtaking ceremonial deets. Puja descended the aisle with grace and poise, and a collective gasp rang out when she made her grand reveal at the Hyatt Regency Reston. In a cranberry Sabyasachi lehenga, fashionable jewels, and an angelic beauty look by Makeup by Dina, she was the epitome of a mesmerizing Bollywood bride. Though Puja always envisioned an outdoor wedding, she knew that it would be chaotic if the weather didn’t cooperate. Therefore, she brought the outdoors inside with the help of planning and design extraordinaires from Preeti Exclusive and floral and decor experts from Da Vinci's Florist. Together, they dreamed up a natural mandap containing lush roses and leaves that had so much glamorous impact. We feel giddy just looking at this masterpiece: What an absolute perfect place to take your sacred vows! As Puja and Raveen were declared Mr. and Mrs., they floated through a cloud of cheering onlookers and breezed into a sleek Rolls Royce, fitting for this decadent affair. Description of the Day:

It is crazy to think that two former strangers were at the same place, same time for five years before they crossed paths. Was there a chance that they may have exchanged a momentary gaze or that he once held the door for her during these years, we may never know. When we finally crossed paths it was the quintessential school romance that started in the computer lab of all places. During a span of two weeks, we exchanged short glances across the room, and endless conversations with time seeming to fly by effortlessly. From an initial encounter, this quickly blossomed into a romance with the idea of each other once being a stranger almost inconceivable.

After almost a year of planning, we were so excited for our day to finally arrive. After endless days of unbearable humidity and rain we were so fortunate to have the clouds finally part and our wedding on such an effortlessly beautiful sunny weekend. One of my personal favorite parts of the wedding was the very beginning: our first look. Mari Harsan, our photographer completely surprised us and arranged for us to have our first look over at the Wolf Trap in Fairfax, Virginia to add more of a scenic contrast in comparison to the modern, town center feel my wedding venue, the Hyatt Reston offered. Walking across the bridge in Wolf Trap over to Raveen for our first look was a special moment I will forever and always remember. I was not nervous at all during the first couple of seconds of my walk. I had the usual I hope my dupatta does not fall of my head or please don't let my lipstick smudge thoughts flooding my head, but halfway through the walk, these routine thoughts suddenly fled my mind and all I could hear was the sound of my heart pounding; beating faster and faster, taking me back to the night of our first date. When I tapped his back, he turned around and it finally settled in that this was in fact our wedding day, the long awaited day was finally here!

I initially always dreamed of having an outdoor wedding, but to avoid the added anxiety and chaos of it potentially raining on my wedding day, I decided to bring the outdoors inside. DaVinci, my decorator created the romantic, garden wedding I have always envisioned with touches of corals, blush, and ivory intertwined with greenery. Our mandap was covered entirely in lush greenery with beautiful, dedicate, scattered roses and a magnificent chandelier shimmering below us. We exited our ceremony with a petal toss, it was one of the DIY elements that I incorporated into the wedding. Each bag had the following quote from Raveen’s favorite poet Rumi: “This love is the rose that blooms forever.” I subsequently surprised Raveen with a white antique Rolls Royce getaway car. For a day it seemed as though we stepped out of our ordinary lives and felt like royalty!

The theme continued on with the reception with soft pink uplighting, three different romantic centerpieces with hints of rose gold, and a reception stage with a golden gate slightly ajar with cascading flowers. We thought the starlit dance floor would also add to the romantic, secret garden theme. Nearly everyone was dancing the whole night away on top of the twinkling lights. It was so meaningful amidst the lights for both of s to be surrounded by our loved ones celebrating our special day!

We're so excited to share the dazzling reception (with entertainment by Dynasty AV & Entertainment) up next!
