It feels like Spring is finally in the air, and we have the most refreshing, chic destination Indian wedding affair to celebrate the fresh blooms and bright colors surrounding us all! Stylish Divya and Arun decided to celebrate their wedding in Burgundy, France, and their festivities were utter perfection. This lavish Indian event began with an all-white welcome soiree in which guests frolicked on the grounds of the Chateau de Varennes while playing cricket and listening to live music by Paris String Orchestra. The next day, makeup artist Annette Thornton and hairstylists from Bulles d'Hair added glowing beauty touches to our beautiful bride for her romantic sangeet event. The bride was pretty in pink in an eye-catching, embellished golden blouse and tiered lehenga skirt. The gown was intricately constructed with sensational architectural design elements. We’re simply in love with Maharani Divya’s elegant choice of bridal wear! After the bride was dolled up, she was ready for the fun-filled dance party. The chic venue was decorated with elegance and class by Madame Artisan Fleuriste while the dance floor was kept jam-packed with DJs from Ritzy Music behind the turntables. The intricate planning by NKT Events and design by Events by Design London only added to the perfect vibe of this elegant event. Description of the Day
We were lucky enough to have not one but three days of celebration:
The first day/welcome event was a “White Party”, during which there was a cricket match on the grounds of the chateau, played between the bride and grooms sides, followed by a BBQ, live entertainment and dancing by the pool.
The second day was a “Sangeet” which is a big party that takes place the night before the wedding, with lots of drinking, eating, dancing and performances by close family and friends of the couple.
We began with cocktails and canapes served on the lawns of the chateau followed by a seated buffet dinner. Soon after, the entertainment began inside the orangerie with the DJ MC-ing the night and lots of wonderful and touching performances. The orangerie then turned into a nightclub scene with everyone joining in the dancing till the early hours of the morning.
The wedding day began with a traditional Hindu ceremony, in a mandap which was set up underneath the shade of four very well placed trees on the grounds of the chateau.
The ceremony was followed by champagne and canapes, before the couple arrived for the Reception Dinner which was a magnificent Al Fresco seated arrangement in front of the orangerie with a purpose-built dancefloor in the middle. A three course Michelin starred meal followed as well as speeches, cake cutting and dancing into the night to finish off a magnificent weekend.
All three days were nothing short of perfect. The weather was wonderful. The execution of the event was flawless. The food, wine and service were all impeccable and it was a truly magical experience for us our families and all of our guests. There was a palpable energy fueled by joy, love and positive emotion in the atmosphere during the event that just continued to escalate over the three days.
Hurry back for all the ceremony deets!
