Morning, Maharanis! We have a super sweet couple to introduce you all to today. Allison and Vijay are a gorgeous and dynamic duo with a long, adorable history. Allison told us: I met Vijay in undergrad 11 years ago through some mutual friends. We stayed in touch throughout the years but we randomly ran into each other one night and we started talking again. We went to a music festival together for New Years and I think that was when I realized that he was very special.” Aw, there’s nothing like some sweet tunes to bring a couple together. Meanwhile, Vijay’s version of events included him standing by the bar at an after party talking to some people he’d just met. Then, out of the corner of his eye he saw the most beautiful woman ever - Allison - walk in. The rest is history! Through the vibrant photos captured by Jay Seth Photography, we can feel the love swirling in the air! The festivities began at the mod W Dallas Victory Hotel and Residences for the Sangeet night. Everything about the venue, decor, and fashions were pure sophistication, and we know these snaps will provide plenty of wedding inspo for all you brides who love sparkle and glam. For the opening event, the lovely bride rocked a breezy, white lehenga festooned with delicate embroidery. Prashe Decor helped bring all the couple’s decor visions to life, and we’re loving all the pretty details. Head into the full gallery for all the shots captured impeccably by Jay Seth Photography with commentary from the bride right down below!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

I met Vijay in undergrad 11 years ago through some mutual friends. We stayed in touch throughout the years but we randomly ran into each other one night and we started talking again. We went to a music festival together for New Years and I think that was when I realized that he was special.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

My sister-in-law Deepu helped us plan everything. She got married a few years before so we knew a lot of the vendors that she used and everything that went into it. First, we decided on the city. Then, we looked at a few venues but we easily decided on the W Hotel in downtown Dallas. The venue was just incredible. Our reception was on the top floor, which had a beautiful view of the skyline and it was just perfect. Deepu helped find us our vendors and we basically went and checked them out and picked the ones we liked!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

So our decided on Prashe for our wedding decor. As we were walking through her store, I saw a bunch of lenghas that I liked. We all put our heads together and we came up with the reception outfit of our dreams. Prashe did an amazing job and gave us exactly what we wanted.

For the ceremony, my mother-in-law went to India and found some beautiful sarees for the wedding! I couldn't have asked for anything more, they were just beautiful.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Everyone loved the Baraat! Instead of a white horse, we decided to do an exotic white car instead. All the guests from the wedding had so much fun dancing in the street and talked about it a lot. Everyone also commented on how fun and unique it was. A lot of our guests have never been to an Indian wedding.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Just relax, take a deep breath and take each step one by one. Also, no matter how much you plan, how much you prepare and how much you want it to be perfect, something will most likely go wrong. The thing is, the only people that will know that something went wrong are your significant other and family. Otherwise, the guests just want to celebrate your big day and have fun. We started our day at 3 AM and ended it at midnight.. it flew by so fast. Just enjoy it and take it all in!
