It's finally the weekend! Today's rustic Indian wedding follows the incredibly charming union of Bhairvi and Kishen. L'Atelier Lumière International Photographie has brought us all the decadent moments with an all-star Indian wedding vendor team that just crushed the multi ceremony event! A visionary in the Indian wedding game, Chic Events by Sonia was brought in to help planning and Sara Baig to complete the beautiful Design. I just love how the bridal party got to interact together in a private session before the wedding, this is what family is all about, friends! Jen Evoy Makeup Studio created a subtle makeup look that was an excellent contrast to the bold trousseau hue. There is so much excitement and with Empire Entertainment on the forefront, we are in for a festive treat! In the meantime, the gallery will take you through a sneak peek of all the matrimonial events.

The bride dishes down on some of her favorite moments down below!

Our reception was one of the most fun events to plan! Kishen and I wanted a western style event and hosted it at the historic Arcadian Court in downtown Toronto. At cocktail hour we had our guests situated in the loft with a beautiful view of the city. We served hors d'oeuvres and had a modernist bar to make molecular cocktails and canapes for our guests. It was a huge hit! Our guests loved the unique experience. After cocktail hour, our guests were directed to the ballroom where our main event took place. Our decor theme for our reception ballroom was classy, luxurious and romantic with accents of black and gold. For my outfit, I opted for an all-black gown with zardozi embroidery work and Kishen wore an all-black tuxedo. Our outfits popped so nicely against all the light and warm tones of our color scheme. For entertainment, Kishen and I wanted it to be personal to our roots and style. We are both originally from East Africa so we hired an afro fusion dance group to perform for our guests and open our dance floor. They ended up getting us and our guests on the dance floor and showed us some African dance moves! An hour or so after the dance floor started, we had a 90's hip-hop cover band come on stage to play live music for guests. Kishen and I love old school RnB and Hip-Hop so it was truly our style! It was a total hit and everyone was singing and dancing the night away! The whole night came together so beautifully. It was truly a magical night that we will never forget!

When Kishen saw me for the first time. I think every bride wants her groom to think she looks great but I wasn't expecting the reaction I got when he first saw me! You see, Kishen is a very non-traditional guy - I wasn't sure how he would take to my Indian bridal look. He only got to see me once I got to the mandap and the veil dropped but his reaction was perfect. He was in total awe and he just couldn't stop staring at me throughout the entire ceremony. That moment replays in my head a lot because, after everything we experienced over the years, we were both so happy at that moment...finally we were going to be spending the rest of our lives together!

Planning a wedding is not easy! It takes a lot of dedication, time and compromise. Try to involve as minimal people as possible during the planning process -- the fewer opinions and input the better! Kishen and I would first come to an agreement about what we liked for things like venue, decor, food, and entertainment and only then would we share these with our families. This way, we were focussed on planning our wedding based on OUR style and knew exactly what we wanted. It's also important for brides to remember that as much as we think this is our special day, it's also your groom's wedding day too so take his opinions and contributions equally into account.

Hang on tight, I will join you in a few to dish out more details of Bhairvi's Indian wedding!
