Hello there, sweethearts! Today we relive an enchanting fusion wedding pulled out from the pages of our "Best of 2018" Emagazine! The festivities of Jaimie and Vaiibhav took place in the beautiful Romulus, Michigan and on her most awaited day, our Maharani Jaime brought on all the glam to her wedding day thanks to her fabulous maroon velvet lehenga and the intricate updo creation of the renown hairstylist, Hairbyaysha, that she perfectly adorned with an exquisite golden hairpiece! This beautiful lady was all smiles as she was captured by the talented Rosy & Shaun Wedding Photographers during her fantastic getting ready moments that included an entire makeup session with the bridal MUA team from Blank Canvas Detroit! I love how she pinned her cream dupatta into her outfit and how her lovely bangle set adorned her hands to complement flawlessly her dreamy henna design. Now, looking picture perfect it's time for our bride to bring to light her dreamy look! Marigold Wedding Planners coordinated every detail of the grand day and of course the ceremony that we are about to see! But first, check out the complete gallery for more awe-inspiring images!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met about halfway through medical school. We lived in the same apartment building for over a year, but never crossed paths. He was coming back from a run, and I was taking my dog, Terry, for a walk. He ran past me but looped back to ask me if I worked at one of the local hospitals because he recognized the scrubs I was wearing as the same ones used at the hospital where he did his rotations. He ended up offering me one of his books to help me study, and I asked for his phone number so that I could "return the book".
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
It was a group effort. He surprised me at sunset on a beautiful beach in Thailand. We traveled there with our good friends, Indra and Sushma. Vaiibhav picked the ring at the location, Indra was responsible for carrying the ring through customs, and his wife Sushma coordinated the details with the resort. After the proposal, we all had dinner on the beach. I was so excited that I barely ate any of the dinner Sushma had arranged for us all.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We chose most of our vendors using personal referrals. We booked our DJ first before we even had a venue! I remember dancing at our friend's wedding a year prior when we both decided that Umesh would be our DJ if we ever got married, so of course, he was the first vendor we booked. We couldn't have asked for a better venue. The Sheraton staff and management were very accommodating and helpful every step of the way. Tina at Marigold Wedding Planners met with us many times and truly made our event feel like a priority. When we were looking for photographers we looked at countless galleries; it was so overwhelming. It wasn't until we started talking to photographers on the phone, however, that we began to feel like we would be able to choose one. Not only were Rosy and Shaun's photos absolutely beautiful, but after meeting with them we knew they were a match. They made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and they're the kind of people that you want to continue to see and hang out with even after the wedding is over.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
We were limited in our options because we didn't have enough vacation time to go to India. We ended up doing all of our shopping in Toronto. I absolutely fell in love with a bridal outfit on the first day of our trip, and Vaiibhav picked out an outfit at the same shop. We put in an order for customization 6 months prior to our wedding. They were supposed to be made in India and shipped to us in February. They weren't delivered to us until 2 weeks before our wedding and were torn, falling apart at the seems, stained, and didn't fit. My outfit didn't include any of the custom requests that I ordered. We had to make an emergency trip back to Toronto 10 days before our wedding where we found our dream outfits at a different store. It was a very stressful situation, but luckily everything worked out in the end.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Cake and pastry testing! Because of cultural differences, my mom wasn't able to contribute during much of the planning process. Luckily, cakes are universal! Not only were the sweets so delicious, but the afternoon of cake testing with my mom will be a special memory that I will always cherish.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They loved our food, especially the dosa station at our Mehndi and the chat stations at our cocktail hour.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
It was very important to me to incorporate pieces of my culture in with Vaiibhav's culture, and having my dad walk me down the aisle was a particular priority. I will never forget the way I felt walking down the aisle with my dad, as one of my favorite songs played. He is an amazing man, and I will always look up to him.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
1. Go to the bathroom before the mehndi application begins.
Don't include too many dances at the reception. After about 2-3, your guests start losing interest.
Pick out your outfits at least 6 months ahead of time, and tell the designer your wedding date is 1 month before the actual date to ensure your outfits are completed in time. This also will give you some extra time to do damage control if there are any issues.
4. Decide on the 4-5 things that are most important, and try not to worry about the rest.
5. Don't eat or drink after the lipstick is applied.
6. Always remember to smile!
See you ladies in our next post!
