Good Morning, darlings! We are about to sweeten up your day with Melissa & Lucky's wedding celebration! This intimate and romantic fusion wedding is one for the books, and we are sure that you are going to love it! So let's check it out together! We are starting this journey with an outdoor photoshoot carried out by Juancho SC Photography. Through each of these shots, we get to take a look at the most intimate and charming moments of this lovely couple when seeing each other for the first time on their wedding attires. And we love the vibe that we get from each photo! Our blushing Maharani showed up in a hot pink Lengha embellished with golden patterns, totally embracing her new culture! And that ravishing look could not have been possible without the help of Agnieszka Bielaczyc and Brittney Carpenter as they took care of their hairstyle and makeup needs! This winning combination resulted in a sweet and charming look that made Melissa look like a princess! And Lucky did not stay behind! The champagne and golden Sherwani suit that he rocked, doted him with such elegance and traditional style that he ended up looking like the Raja he is! We love how the smile and the sweetness of this lovely couple fill the scene and brighten up our day! Don't miss the gallery that we have prepared for you if you want to get a closer look at this romantic moment!
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
From our place, we could see the helicopter tours that go over Chicago. I shared that I would never want to go on one because I am extremely afraid of heights. Fast forward a few months, Lucky has a date planned for us, I figure we are going to dinner like normal. As we are heading out he shares with me that we are going on a helicopter ride. He's serious, not joking. I started crying and really thought this was a nightmare come to life. I felt bad because I knew he was trying to make a nice date for us so I conceded and went. The helicopter ride was better than I imagined. When we were exiting the helicopter the staff told me that our pictures before we got on did not turn out okay and if we could retake them. We agreed and as they began taking the pictures Lucky knelled down and proposed! The experience was really nerve-wracking but it was a proposal I would always remember. It turns out Lucky only hear heard me mention helicopter tour and not the part that I never want to go on it!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning the wedding turned into a second full-time job. Typically in Indian weddings, it's out of the couple's hands but since ours was non-traditional we wanted to plan our wedding. We began planning a little over a year out, securing the venue first. We knew we did not want a banquet hall venue so we chose a loft-style venue with an outdoor garden space.
We chose a sunset color theme (oranges, yellows, pinks) to bring in the vibrant Indian color scheme.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Due to work constraints, we were unable to travel to India. Fortunately, my mother-in-law lives in India and traveled to Jaipur, Rajasthan to look for a lengha for me. I knew that I wanted traditional Rajasthani, heavy handwork in fuchsia. My mother-in-law and brother-in-law visited many showrooms in Jaipur and shortlisted lenghas. Through grainy, 3 am video calls, and their recommendations we were able to pick out my wedding lengha. I am so fortunate to have family that would spend many, many hours to find the perfect dress for me!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the wedding was incorporating both of our creativity to make an event that was completely our own and seeing it actually look nice and come together on the wedding.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
When I was walking down the aisle. I made sure that I was completely present in that moment so that I would remember it. I remember hearing the music (Din Shagna Da, by Jasleen Royal), seeing everyone's faces, feeling really beautiful, and seeing my husband.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don't leave anything to the last minute. You either think you will have time and you won't, it will take longer than you think or you will have decision fatigue by then and if will go in the forget it bucket.
