Hello, beauty queens! We hope you are ready to have some fun because it is time to join Amanda & Amit at their wedding reception party! Hosted at The Merion and beautifully designed and conceptualized by Simply Sapphire Events, this reception was off the charts! There was so much beauty, merriment, flair, and love surrounding this gala. To set the mood for the night, Mandaps by Dhoom put together a minimalist but on-point decor that delightfully combined with the fancy chandeliers and the elegant architecture of this stunning venue. All the guests had a great time, dancing, chatting, and tasting the delicious dishes cooked by Chand Palace. Everyone enjoyed their favorite food, and we so wish we were there to have a bite, because word on the street says that this gala will be recalled, amongst other things, for its mouth-melting cuisine! In between delicious treats, Bollywood hits, and mixed-emotions, this reception party was getting to an end. If you want to relive the beauty of these wedding festivities, you cannot miss the fantastic shots by Lightyear Studio that we have put together in today's gallery! They are amazing, and they definitely worth the while!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met Amit in undergrad when we both had the same microeconomics class. We sat next to each other and found out we were both applying to pharmacy school. It wasn't until we were in our third year of pharmacy school that we connected. We were in the same rotation and bonded over a lively discussion of the NBA finals. Our relationship blossomed from there and we soon became inseparable. He constantly makes me laugh and never fails to put a smile on my face. That's how I knew he was "the one." I realized how happy he makes me and couldn't imagine finding a better partner.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Amit proposed to me on my 29th birthday. I did not think much of the day since I knew in advance I would have to work a late shift and we went out to brunch to celebrate. I called him on my way home after my shift and he told me he was making dinner. I thought he sounded a bit frantic and strange, but attributed that to him trying to finish cooking. When I walked up to our apartment door, I noticed that all the lights were off and there was a glow coming from the window. I told myself not to get too excited and figured he set up a candlelight dinner. I opened the door to find candles lit all over the apartment and him on one knee, holding up the ring in its box. We then celebrated our engagement in Philadelphia at my favorite restaurant.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Since we had an Indian American wedding, I wore a bridal lengha in the morning and a wedding dress in the evening. I asked Amit's parents if they would like me to wear the traditional red color, but they told me to pick any color I wanted. I had no idea what color to choose and most of my wardrobe is black! I went shopping in Edison and fell in love with a bridal lengha that had beautiful stonework and beading, but the sample dress was in yellow. I looked at the swatches and decided on royal blue. For my wedding dress, I went to Kleinfeld determined that I would find an A line gown with straps and a low back. Of course that did not happen. I soon realized that I did not like A line and after stepping out of my comfort zone, tried on different styles. I was walking back to the fitting room, when a dress caught my eye. It was not like anything I originally described and thought I wanted. I tried it on and knew it was the one. My consultant had me try on more dresses just to make sure. When she saw that the rest of the dresses did not have the same effect on me, she asked if I wanted to put on the dress I loved. I could not wait to get back into it!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I was really touched by my sister's speech at my wedding. She was my maid of honor and told me early on that she "did not give speeches." While I knew she was half joking, I wasn't sure what to expect. She gave the first speech that night and I was so touched by what she said that I cried. I tried to hold back tears (for fear of ruining my makeup!) when she opened up and described our relationship and what I meant to her. Her speech was heartfelt and genuine- perfect in every way. She gave me a copy of her speech after the wedding, which I intend to frame.

That is all for today, ladies! Have an awesome rest of the day, and we see you tomorrow!
