Hello there, darlings! We've arrived at Palak & Mihir's grand wedding finale by taking a look at their intimate and stylish wedding reception party held at the Grand Palladium Jamaica & Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa. The ballroom featured a minimalist yet on-point decor crafted by Tai Flora Luxe, and the result was pure regal and romantic bliss. We were lost in a mesmerizing haze of delight as we looked through the photos captured by True Colors Photography. Every single shot is a visual masterpiece that showcases this fantastic event in such a beautiful way that we get to feel just as if we were there. For this closing gala, Palak chose the most dazzling lehenga, very well complemented with the flawless makeup and hairstyle designed by Zentropia Spa. And we loved the final look on her! Without any question, this was the best way to bring the wedding festivities to an end with a flourish! And all we have to say is that we are happy beyond words that these two found each other as the love they radiate is so pure and true that you soon enough realize that they are soulmates meant to be together! If you want to relive this entire event, make sure to take a look at today's gallery! We have compiled the most memorable scenes for your enjoyment! It is worth the while!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Mihir and I met at work during the summer of 2012, I was a summer intern there and he was working full-time. For one of my projects during my internship- I was handing out a questionnaire to each department and that’s when I came into his department and started conversing with him. He had intentionally not written his name on the questionnaire which gave me another reason to talk to him. We clicked right away and started seeing and talking to each other a lot more. A year later, we started dating and have been together ever since then. He always brings the best side of me and is extremely supportive of every decision I make. As the years passed and our relationship became stronger, I realized he was the one. I always wanted to marry someone that is not only my partner but also my best friend with who I can always count on and talk openly with.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Mihir’s proposal plan was to try and recreate our very first date and to go the same place for dinner, take the same walk along the lakeshore, and surprise me where we first sat and talked. Unfortunately Mother Nature’s schedule wouldn’t allow for it to occur on the first day he tried. It began to rain and Mihir wisely chose to change the plan as he knew I wouldn’t like the pictures of the proposal being ruined by rain. He craftily attempted to propose again during the same week, by kneeling to tie his shoes, and I’ll admit I thought that was going to be it, but once again, rain played spoiler. The day he finally proposed, we were walking around the port after having lunch and it was a gorgeous spring day outside, we were indulging on our gelato and i didn’t even realize we had walked to a serene and private area of the lakeshore. He started telling me about how he feels about me and then went on his knees and ended up popping the question. I couldn’t have asked for a better proposal because he remembered our first date and mimicked it for the proposal!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
As I have a design background, I always wanted to incorporate a touch of my vision for the wedding which included brainstorming on Monterrey by creating mood boards. I then collaborated with my wedding coordinator, Leanna Burdie by showcasing what I was envisioning with lots of notes and images that best describes what I was looking for. Then she showed me what the resort can offer and we started selecting the decor, linen, layout, etc. I made welcome bags for all the guests that were coming with some snacks, waterproof phone covers, our wedding week itinerary and thank you cards.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I found my Bridal Lengha at The New Delhi Company in Toronto. I wanted to wear a traditional colour but did not want red, so I started exploring other colour options such as burgundy, I also did not want to wear a very heavy Lengha as our wedding venue was on the beach. The day I wore my Bridal Lengha, I knew right away that the outfit is the one!
The other outfits for the rest of my events were from India. Thanks to my mom and masi along with constant FaceTiming her in India during odd hours of the day.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our wedding day, as I was walking down the aisle and saw Mihir - I felt so content and ready to marry the man of my dreams.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Things may not always go as you planned but always remember to cherish and enjoy every moment during your wedding festivities.
