Welcome back, darlings! This time we are here to unveil Ammarah & Mubashir's wedding reception. These lucky newlyweds had two reception parties, one in California and one in Toronto, but this time we'll be taking a look at the one that took place in California! Just like we saw on all other events, this reception exceeded all expectations and packed tons of inspiring ideas that we are sure you are going to love! So let's check it out! 2Create Designs transformed the interiors of the Huntington Beach Hilton Waterfront into an enchanting scenario featuring gold linens and soft pasteli floral arrangements that everyone loved! There was so much beauty and luxury surrounding the scene that these lovebirds could not have asked for a better scenario to celebrate their marriage. Both Ammarah & Mubashir looked flawless on their traditional attires. Still, it was our gorgeous Maharani who stole the show after being pampered by Beauty Concept by Shirley Wu, who made her look like a princess. The night was coming to an end, but there was still time to have a bite at the sweet cake baked by Rafi's Cakes. Relive all the beauty of this lovely wedding by taking a peek at the fantastic shots from Samson Productions, in our Best of 2019 Magazine and also in today's gallery. You won't regret it!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my Groom through family connections. I was at a wedding and Mubashir approached me. I remember being incredibly nervous from the attention, but I instantly knew he was “the one”. Kind, gentle, and respectful— everything I had dreamed of. He recalls that he felt the exact same way about me… he was nervous yet knew that he would regret if he didn’t walk over and talk to me. Grateful for our instant and deep connection every day since our first meeting.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We went to a rooftop breakfast at the Montage in Beverly Hills, while a special location, I wasn’t expecting anything out of the ordinary. However, he completely surprised me! When I walked into the restaurant, I was stunned because there were roses everywhere and a beautiful sign asking, “will you marry me?” Friends and family joined us for our special brunch, and it was such a memorable event.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning a wedding can be one of the most exciting, yet intimidating things you’ll ever do. Luckily, I had my mother’s support and she was the greatest in making sure every single detail was executed perfectly! Because we worked together, we were able to achieve more. We made sure that we clearly articulated our vision for the wedding to all of the planners and we developed timelines for key events leading up to the big day. My overall experience was excellent from picking a venue (at Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach), to hair and makeup, and wedding décor (by 2Create Designs)— which I contribute to a combination of teamwork, proper planning, and good luck.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Because of my Pakistani background I wore traditional red. I was not confident in this color at first because I do not normally wear red. However, I was astonished at how beautiful my bridal lengha was, once I let go of expectations, I was able to fully embrace the beauty of red. The lengha was artfully embellished and flowy—it made for a memorable event.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was working so closely with my mother. I think our relationship deepened through the process and I am very grateful we were able to share this experience together. My mom reminded me to stay centered and grounded throughout the process.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
My guests were really impressed with the personal touch of our wedding. We made a point to personally connect with as many guests as we possibly could and worked to ensure everyone was having a great time! Additionally, we shared wedding photos and videos with everyone, so they could see how they were a part of our special day.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
During dinner, Mubashir and I invited wedding guests to come up and greet us. This was an incredibly amazing experience as I realized how much love and support, we have from our family and friends. The kind words that everyone shared are still with me today and constantly replay in my head. I feel very fortunate to know how many people truly care about us and our future together.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
I had a beautiful bridal shower in Newport Beach two weeks before the wedding. I wore a white dress and had my guests dress in pastel colors. We had lunch and a tea party, which fit the Southern California weather. We also had a presentation of the bridge and groom; which was a more formal dance and “presentation to society”. I wore a pink mehndi outfit for the event.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
My best advice is to stay calm throughout the process (it can certainly seem overwhelming) and to pray to God. Everything will turn out amazingly if you just trust the process and give your full faith. While it may be nerve-inducing to have so many “eyes on you”, it is helpful to realize that this is because you have so much love from your family, community, and friends!
Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My wedding and the months leading up to it were some of the best of my life. I thank my family for their incredible support and unwavering love through the process.
We've arrived at the end of this lovely story. But we have more stories for you, so make sure to join us tomorrow for more!
