Good morning ladies and happy Friday! I'm beyond excited to bring a magical wedding story packed with so many inspiring moments that will make you want to accelerate your wedding date. Wedding photo expert, Photizo Studio captured the blissful union and translated into the stunning images we unveil today. After a long distance relationship and some postponement announcements Saumya and Shridhar's love conquered all! They finally completed their plans and held two traditional weddings in the beautiful city of Pune in India. Saumya's Hindu background and Shridhar's Marathi upbringing merged in a beautiful celebration of love that started with a Haldi ceremony. The joyful rituals were packed to the brim with vibrant florals and loads turmeric paste! The charming floral jewelry donned by Saumya completed the beautiful makeup look Saakshi Oswal created exclusively for the auspicious occasion. She was simply radiant! After a Sangeet at the Residency Club Pune, the couple moved their festivities to the Taj Blue Diamond. For their Hindu union, the pair exchanged vows in a dreamy poolside ceremony and the rituals were performed under a magnificent floral mandap created by Shamuns Flowers that was nothing short but spectacular. Maharani Saumya Wow all guests making a memorable entry under beautiful cascading floral strings and wearing Pallod hot pink lehenga design. While Raja, Shridhar opted for a regal floral suit and upscale the look with a turban beautifully embellished with a white feather. Such a stylish couple! For their reception grand entrance a line of sparkler fountains shone and a grand flower arch framed the newlyweds on the best night of their lives. Don't miss the creative shots that preserved the great memories of this affair forever in our complete gallery.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met him in 2015 while working together on my first job. We both started our career together. His simplicity, humour and smile caught my eye and that's when in my head I knew he was the one. We went to pursue our masters in 2017 , he went to the US and I was in India. It was really tough to manage studies, long distance and the time difference. Every day meetings turned to one meeting a year. It was very very tough but we sailed through it all and finally made it. We introduced each other to our parents in Jan 2019, got engaged in Feb 2020, and finally got married in March 2021. Three years of our celebrations! He is a Marathi and I'm a Hindu but it was fun embracing both the cultures in the wedding.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We never had to propose to each other because in our minds we both knew we were to get married some day or the other. However, we were practicing a dance on a bollywood song and the lyrics read "tujhe ring pehnaunga". Suddenly he went down on his knees and took a ring out. I was shocked. We were both in pyjamas. So I happily call it a proposal in pyjamas

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Most of the planning was done by me since Shridhar was away in the US and would come down only a month prior to the wedding. The location had to be Pune since Shridhar's entire family stays in Pune and my guests were anyway going to travel from across India. So we decided to host the wedding at Taj Blue Diamond, Pune since Taj is known for its hospitality. We hosted a Haldi by the Poolside. The yellow and the blues just go perfect. Used a marigold theme for the same. The Sangeet was on the terrace and had a Western theme. The Wedding was held twice one in Marathi style other in Hindu style. In Marathi style we went for fresh flowers and in the evening Wedding we went for pinks and whites.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I didn't have one but when I visited the store I knew I wanted the one I chose. It was a pink lehenga.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I think the planning was personally done by me and I did not feel the need to hire a third party. The personalization made it most exciting.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They loved how the decor and our outfits complimented each other. Every venue and decoration was different and both our costumes were just blending in.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I think walking down the aisle is the best moment! My bridesmaids sang a song and it was lovely

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
I think the decor was apt for every other ocassion. The haldi was beautifully done with fresh flowers. And we coordinated our outfits. We called dhols for special performances which was live.
For Sangeet we had a huge dance floor with a screen and a live DJ.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
I think just be yourself and invest yourself to add that extra touch of personalization

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My jewellery was heirloom jewellery. For my marathi wedding I was decked in pure gold from Tanishq along with the jewellery my mother's mother(nani) wore thirty years back on her Wedding!!
Similarly for my hindu Wedding, I wore my family's heirloom kundan jewellery which my Dadi got from her mother in law.

Congratulations, Saumya and Shridhar! See you in our next feature, ladies.
