Good morning, Maharanis! We hope you are ready for an adventure because we have a destination wedding for you today! Each and every destination wedding that lands into our editorial desks never ceases to amaze us. But today's wedding is, if possible, even more amazing! This time we are taking you to Dubai, UAE, to enjoy Malvika & Krish's multi-day wedding bash. So get ready to have a blast! As we all know, planning an Indian wedding is a task in itself, but it can be downright daunting doing it across the world! Luckily, Malvika had Chimoo Acharya by her side to make her dream wedding come to life and ensure everything will go as planned. And the final result was beyond amazing! The festivities began with a series of pre-wedding events, leading to the grand wedding ceremony hosted at the Mandarin Oriental Dubai. Our beautiful Maharani wore a fashionable lengha with golden embroidery designed by Sabyasachi, very well complemented with the sparkling pieces of jewelry from Vaishali Doshi. But it doesn't stop there! Aisha Khan took care of Malvika's beauty needs and made her look like a total bombshell! After the ceremony, it was time to head over to the Taj Business Bay Dubai to celebrate this life milestone. The bold colors, the tantalizing fashion wear, and of course, image after image of eye candy; made this wedding one for the books! And thanks to the fantastic shots captured by Imprint Studio, we get to enjoy every moment of this dazzling celebration. It is time to get back from this real-life fairytale, but a piece of our hearts will always stay with Malvika & Krish and their lovely wedding festivities. Luckily for us, we can always relive this entire celebration by taking a look at today's full gallery. Believe us; this is one you don't want to miss!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met through common friends, and while many would like to say their story was instant flames or "love at first sight" that wasn't the case with us. We were friends for a long time before we began exploring deeper versions of the relationship.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Our COVID Story:
We got engaged in December 2019 and were all set to get married in October 2020. However, COVID had a different plan. Our wedding was postponed 3 times and we almost signed 4 contracts before our actual wedding venue.
Wedding #1:
The initial plan was a 500 person Jaipur wedding. This was supposed to be the embodiment of a classic Indian wedding with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it. We went to Jaipur in Feb and had finalized everything, we were awaiting a revised contract in March and COVID happened.
Wedding #2:
Pushed from October - we decided that Feb 18th would be enough time to let COVID run its course. We made a lot of changes, like our location - from Jaipur back to Dubai, thinking maybe a local wedding would work out easier. 200 people instead of 500 as the guest list should be contained. On Jan 23rd Dubai issued a rule allowing no more than 10 people at weddings. We postponed again
Wedding #3:
The final one. The rules changed on the 17th of May and we planned our wedding for 6th June. Summer weddings meant an entirely indoor wedding, which was not the plan at all. We redid everything from scratch in 3 weeks and had smaller functions with the people closest to us to compensate.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Red has always been "my color" and Sabyasachi was my go to designer since I was about 13. Funnily enough though I wanted a pastel wedding lehenga, but since all my wedding shopping was online, I decided to play it "safe". But my safe choice was the boldest and the most beautiful of them all. I don't think any other color would have made me look as regal as red.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The intimacy! We knew everyone, we loved every single person that attended and we spent time with all of our guests
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
We did wedding vows right after the ceremony - just the two of us and I loved that
Enjoy your weekend, ladies! See you on Monday with a new love story.
