How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Aakash and I met on shaadi.com in February of 2019. After almost 3 months of chatting online, we decided to meet and have our first date.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning during the pandemic was quite a challenge. There were employee shortages, closed venues/vendors, material shortages, last-minute back-outs, and many other unforeseen challenges. I grew up in Portland, Oregon, and have always been appreciative of the community of friends my family has established there. For our wedding, our Portland community came together to give their unwavering support, manpower, and teamwork to help plan, coordinate and execute the most perfect wedding weekend. Our coordinator, Nikhil Patel, and his team worked behind the scenes with vendors to make sure all of the events were well organized and ran smoothly. We truly had a dream team of vendors. Each vendor we had from the venue, DJ, MC, Photo, Video, Decor/light/sound, hair/makeup, food caterers, etc worked flawlessly together to help us have the fun, beautiful, elegant wedding weekend we wanted.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Because of the pandemic, I did most of my wedding shopping online with stores in India. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to go with nontraditional colors. I love pastel colors and that's what I went with for my wedding lengha. My 22-pound raw silk lengha embodied the most beautiful pastel colors with the most intricate hand beading to create the perfect lengha.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests showered us with so much love and appreciation for all the work we went through to have such an elegant, beautiful, well-organized wedding. I think our guests would all agree that the food at each of our events was phenomenal. This couldn’t have been accomplished without Nikhil Uncle and my parents meeting with caterers and working meticulously to not only create perfect menus for each event, but to make sure that the food was fresh, warm, and served appropriately. Picking one thing the guests enjoyed is so hard, so I also want to share that the guests also enjoyed the beautiful Portland skyline Friday night, the live harp player, the beautiful ceremony, the music at the reception, and the décor for all our events.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
During the planning process, you plan EVERYTHING. You even have backup plans that are just as detailed as the main plan. Going into the wedding week, the one thing we were 100% unsure of was what our reception was going to look like. Royce’s Prop shop did 2 mock-ups with Aakash and me, but we still had a hard time figuring out what we really wanted. They did a 3rd mock-up with Nikhil Uncle and my parents, and we got to see bits and pieces of the table décor and some of the stage décor that was inspired by photos we sent them. This was about 2 weeks before the wedding and this was the last time we would ever see any of the décors until the actual events. When Aakash and I walked into the reception ballroom for our pre-reception photo shoot, we were speechless. The décor and lighting were pure perfections!

My sweet Maharanis, come back tomorrow for a new love story!
