Good morning my beautiful ladies! A new week has just begun, and I am as excited as always to give you some much-needed inspiration to have a fantastic day. Today's protagonists are the sweet Aarthee & Vivek, a lovely couple head-over-heels with each other. The lovebirds had an unbelievable wedding that absolutely blew me away! Utsav Planners,Inc. truly outdid themselves with this one. Not only was their planning impeccable, but the decor and splendid bouquets they designed were stunning. This and the charming venue at Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest brought our couple's vision to life. Not only did our couple have a blast, but their guests did, too, thanks to the ambiance Dj Naveen Productions and Event Lighting created. What a joyful moment for all! Ladies, let me tell you about our gorgeous Aarthee. She looked as magnificent as you can imagine. Our Maharani took everyone's breath away, including mine! From the ideal accessories to her flawless attires and the delicate mehndi Henna Beauty By Krupa did for her. And her soulmate, Vivek, didn't miss a beat. His luxurious yet traditional clothing was perfect! Together, they remind me of my favorite romantic movies, with a promise of forever and a hint of sweetness that only the purest of hearts can manage. Trust me, Maharanis, when you see the pictures Joseph Kang Photography captured of these two, you'll feel all the adoration and love between them. So, be my guests and boost your imagination with this marvelous gallery. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met him my freshmen year at the University of Michigan at a house party with mutual friends. I knew he was the one-two weeks in because he laughed at all my jokes but was always all too ready to give me a reality check when my head got too big. Also when I realized he takes shots for breakfast.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He proposed on his birthday because it was the only day I wouldn’t suspect a proposal. He took me to Arlington Race Track and all our friends and family surprised us there. Until he got down on one knee, I thought he was still making a super extra birthday speech at a cake-cutting ceremony.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We got engaged in 2017 with a 2020 wedding date that got pushed to 2021 due to COVID but we still were able to have all our closest friends and small there. Our wedding was planned by Utsav Planners and they were able to bring life to all our dreams and visions for the wedding. My hair artist Aysha Riaz and makeup artist Jahura Hobby KILLED it and made me look and feel better than I could have ever imagined. I had six outfits and had to change halfway through the wedding ceremony because we did a North Indian and South Indian ceremony. We started with a Mehndi Saturday morning that was a Michigan tailgate theme to honor where we met so there were tailgate games like corn hole and flip cup and we had flip cup contests between the parents.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went to India and was actually looking for a white lehenga but couldn’t find anything I liked. I finally went to a store in Ahmedabad (Aso Palav) and after the 600th dress they brought out, I finally found a blush pink and lavender lehenga that I knew was the one.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Most enjoyable part was writing individual notes for every single one of our guests that we used as part of the reception table cards. We were able to show everyone how we appreciated them coming and celebrating with us and it my husband and I had a great time roasting some people who may or may not have been expecting it.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think they loved the Michigan tailgate mehndi because it was a fun event to kick off the celebrations and it really represented who we were as a couple. I think they also loved the individual notes that we made. They definitely loved all the speeches made my our bridal party and family because it was so light, funny, and roasted me and my husband. And lastly, I would think they loved that everything somehow happened on time and without any glitches.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
At the end of our sangeet, we played a song that was really special to me (uff Teri Ada) and me and my husband got on the stage and everyone was dancing on the dance floor. It was when I finally realized I was at my wedding and everyone I loved was in the room celebrating with me.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Keep your bridesmaids close, enjoy the little moments, and don’t forget to take time to eat or drink when you can! This is your event so you can never be late, everyone else is just early :)
Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
The venue was at the Eagle Crest Marriott in Ypsilanti Michigan which is a beautiful gold course. Mehndi was done by Henna Beauty by Krupa. We didn’t have a cake but did a tiered cake pop structure and did boozy cupcakes which were such a hit.
Alright, Maharanis, I hope you enjoyed this story. Keep coming back for more romances!
