How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met during our freshman year at the University of Toledo in 2015. He really became my best friend and my person! Our love for food, travel, and movies became the foundation of our friendship and turned into our relationship. I knew he was the one because his loyalty to his friends and family is like no other. He is the definition of a ride-or-die person. He truly is the guy who will take the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His kindness and love are what made me realize that I’ll be loved and protected, always.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Our proposal was truly so magical and memorable! He planned a surprise trip for me as he was not able to fly out for my birthday. So a month later, he surprised me with a trip to Hawaii. We spent the first few days exploring the island and eating the best food! Toward the end of the trip, he took me to a quiet beach and said we were going on a day trip to the beach. As we arrived at the island, he held my hand and we were walking on the beach and taking in the breeze and sunshine. As we walked towards the ocean, I saw a beautiful setup with the most gorgeous leis in a shape of a heart and a wooden board that read “Will you marry me” It was so beautiful. He turned around and got on one knee and said “Will you be my person for life?” My heart just froze and I was just so shocked and beyond touched. This was so beautiful and I instantly started tearing up! He popped the question with the most gorgeous ring and I just was so happy and in love!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning was as stressful as it was special and beautiful! It definitely is a challenge to plan an Indian wedding but the support from my family, friends, and fiancé was so helpful. We spent months perfecting the looks that I wanted and envisioned for myself and my fiancé. For decorations, I wanted a royal wedding vibe with creme, gold, reds, and pink, and was able to curate my vision that came to life. It truly was so gorgeous and everything I wanted.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I selected my bridal lehengas for the week by exploring Pinterest options. I knew I wanted to wear a lavender for my sangeet and I spent months trying to find the perfect dress which I found in Long Island, NY. My wedding saree was picked out by my uncle and my mom who were in India shopping and it was so touching to wear because they spent so much time and love trying to find the perfect saree for me. I love pink so I was able to get a beautiful saree with a creme color and pink border saree.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was being able to celebrate with all of my family and friends! I was living in Connecticut at the time and all of my family and fiancé were in Ohio. So planning involved lots of FaceTime calls, Zoom sessions, and traveling to find wedding dresses and jewelry. The process is so special and it’s a time to be filled with so much love.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think the guests really enjoyed the food that we had! Each event we had was curated to the theme of the event and the food was the perfect way to bring everyone together. Along with that, we had a caricature and mehendi artist that everyone loved during our sangeet. We also did a joint baarat which was sooo much fun! Right after the ceremony, we had a huge celebration and danced all over the venue!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
A special moment for my wedding that keeps playing in my mind was when the thaali was being tied by my husband and it just felt so surreal. I just couldn’t believe at that moment that we were getting married. This was a moment that I was waiting for forever and this was just so crazy exciting that it was happening. After that, I turned around to see my mom just in tears of happiness and it was all just so beautiful to experience. I wish I could replay this day. Luckily we have the video footage to do this haha.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Sangeet: we did a traditional theme with vibrant colors and many performances from our friends and family. We had fun sangeet food like pav bhaji, chole bhatura, and a dosa station. The food was so delicious!

The haldi we had was outdoors and it was so much fun! We played Bollywood music and everyone celebrated by spreading haldi everywhere.

The reception was a classy event with bright pinks and golds to tie the room together and we had a chaat station and fun foods to celebrate.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Soak it all in. The week and the day of your wedding just goes by so fast! For every event that you have or FaceTime calls, just enjoy the process of planning. It definitely is overwhelming and so stressful but the week of your wedding, just trust yourself and the decisions you have made. Don’t let anyone put down what you want. It’s your wedding and you make the decisions that mean the most to you and your fiancé.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Jewelry: we got it from India in Hyderabad.
My mehendi was so fun! My mehendi artist made beautiful designs like elephants and peacocks. She also added a rocket to represent our mascot from Toledo where we met. I had my bridesmaids carry Thalis with roses in them.

Thanks for reading, loves! Leave us a comment with your impressions about this incredible wedding.
