Hi, Ladies! Check out Simran & Harsimar's wedding on the Platinum Guide Blog. You will love it!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
In between Covid, when he was finding ways to take my mask off ;)
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Took me on a private helicopter tour around Toronto, not knowing the other person on that tour was going to be our photographer!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We stuck to a strict schedule of figuring out all the venue-related vendors/bookings and themes and then matching our outfits/decor themes accordingly. We knew we could be flexible with outfits and decor, so we kept those themes near the end once all the bookings were solidified. We consolidated all the planning into one master document that was shareable with our family and always accessible to everyone. It kept things simple and in one place.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always wanted or saw myself in a pink and in an evergreen lengha. As soon as I walked into Anamika Khanna’s showroom, there was a pink lengha staring right at me in the front. It was a brand-new piece from Kolkata and arrived without the dupatta. I tried it on, and it was made for my measurements, but didn’t have the dupatta. We hunted for days, but I was dead set on that piece - it fit like a glove. Once the dupatta was in, I instantly went for it!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Being able to see the decor and themes come to life! Making mood and color boards was the best part because I was bringing all my ideas into one place.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Everyone loved the ceremony aspect being outdoors - the Anand Karaj wedding ceremony was at White Oaks Resort, Niagara on the Lake, in front of a bridge and water fountains. The peaceful nature and perfectly sunny day just made everything so surreal.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The “pala ceremony”; handing the pala from my father to my father-in-law - was an emotional but joyous/wholesome moment.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Minimal and evergreen flowers did not overpower the space. Making the rooms look breathable yet moody.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Focus on what’s important and what makes you feel special - don’t focus on the noise of doing it a certain way
