Cancun, a paradise of turquoise waves and white sands, was about to witness a wedding that would shake things up. Natasha, the brilliant wedding planner, and Arjun, the talented DJ from DJUSA Events, joined forces to create a celebration that was a masterpiece of love and a touch of drama. Spoiler alert: fireworks, a double baarat, and even a dramatic ACL tear!

Now, imagine this: A bride on her baarat. Yes, you heard it right—because why should the groom have all the fun? Natasha had always envisioned this moment, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Cue the music and the cheering guests, each making a grand entrance in their cars. And if that wasn't enough to make your jaw drop, Natasha broke into a dance for Arjun just before a drizzle began.

The magic didn't stop there. The ceremony was followed by a grand reception at Planet Hollywood Cancun, where guests were treated to an electrifying evening with DJUSA Events ensuring the beats never stopped. At that precise moment when they were pronounced husband and wife, fireworks from Pyrotech Mx lit up the night sky, and it was as if the universe itself had decided to celebrate their union. Every detail was thoughtfully crafted with the creative genius of Royal Charms, Etirios Floral Atelier, and Destawed. Natasha had worked closely with Royal Charms, who flawlessly brought her vision to life. And if you're thinking about food, Chowpatty Catering did not disappoint. They flew everything necessary for their events, bringing the authentic taste of Indian cuisine to Mexico. No grand wedding is complete without someone capturing every incredible moment—and they chose Gareth Davies Photography to do just that.

Now, we promised you some drama, didn't we? Natasha danced the night away during the welcome party/henna night. But just as she was making everyone groove, she took a fall. Not just any fall, mind you—a fall that ended in a torn ACL. Ouch! But did that stop her from enjoying her wedding? Nope! She powered through the weekend, making memories. It wasn't until all the festivities were over that she realized just how much she had pushed through—eventually needing surgery two months later. Talk about dedication to the celebration! Natasha & Arjun's wedding was a spectacular celebration filled with love, laughter, and surprises.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I first met Arjun while working in the wedding industry. My husband is a DJ at DJUSA Events, and I am a wedding planner at my own company, NVP Weddings. Our paths crossed several times over the years, but it all began when he joined his team at a close friend's wedding, where I was attending. We struck up a conversation, and for a few months, we kept in touch, though our busy schedules caused us to drift apart.

One day, while he was in the area for an event, he reached out and invited me to dinner in Philadelphia. He surprised me by taking me to one of my favorite sushi spots. From that moment on, our conversations transformed from occasional chats to daily exchanges that lasted for hours. It felt effortless to connect with him on so many levels.

I knew he was special when I saw how much family meant to him. Coming from a large family myself, I understood that anyone entering my life would need to embrace my lively Gujarati family. So, I invited him to our annual family Christmas weekend at my house. To my surprise, he fit right in without any need for introductions, making it clear that he was meant to be a part of my world!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We decided to approach things a bit differently. Before Arjun officially proposed, we had gotten coconut engaged! Due to our hectic schedules—me managing weddings and Arjun DJing—we only had Monday through Wednesday to spend time together. Weekends were a challenge unless our events happened to be close by. So I did not expect anything to happen till after wedding season slowed down.

In July, one of my best friends, who had recently moved from Canada, was eager to plan a night out in NYC, especially since her family was visiting too. I am always down for a night in NYC, but I didn’t think of a proposal since Arjun had mentioned he had an event that weekend, which he had even posted on Instagram earlier that month. I had also told him that I wanted my family and friends present when he proposed, and my mom had just undergone surgery a few weeks prior, so I didn't expect anything to happen.

When we arrived at our hotel in the city, we got ready and headed to happy hour nearby. My friend, Chigs, suggested we meet her cousins at a different place and insisted on calling an Uber. I didn’t think much of it, but as we entered the Midtown Tunnel, I wondered if her Canadian friends knew that Long Island City and NYC were two different locations. I just went along with the plan.

As we arrived in LIC, we walked towards what I thought was "her family," and suddenly I saw a stunning display of red roses arranged in a heart shape, with Arjun standing right in front of it. It was incredibly sweet and intimate! After he proposed, we went to a lounge for a celebratory shot, thinking we still had time for our “dinner reservations.”

Finally, we made our way into the city to the "restaurant." When I walked in, I was completely blown away to see around a hundred of our closest family and friends waiting for us! It was a magical moment that Arjun had orchestrated just for me. There were drinks, delicious food, and DJUSA provided the best music! It was a night I will never forget!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I've always dreamed of getting married at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Delaware. However, as we started planning, I quickly realized that this wedding would end up being a grand affair with over 1,000 guests, which wasn’t what I envisioned for an intimate celebration! Arjun, however, managed to convince my grandmother to consider a destination wedding despite her initial resistance since I was the first in our immediate family to marry.

From the very beginning, even before we had a venue—honestly, before I was even engaged—we knew we wanted Ronak Amin Studio for videography. Ronak and Riddhi are absolute magicians; having them around all day is a delight. They are definitely our family and not just a vendor we had. For photography, we chose Gareth from GDavies Studio, who brought such creativity to our photos. He delivered all our images in record time, which left me pleasantly surprised! As a planner, I typically hear that hiring separate photo and video teams isn’t ideal, but these two companies worked together seamlessly.

We chose Destawed for our planning and travel arrangements after hearing glowing reviews from colleagues in the wedding industry. I made it clear to Arjun that even though we were working with a different company, I would still be very hands-on—it's just my wedding planner mentality!

When it came to music, there was no doubt that DJUSA Events would be the choice. I left this part entirely in Arjun’s capable hands, and he truly wanted to make a statement. Our reception felt like an electrifying rave, with all the DJs from their team taking turns throughout our events. Arjun, along with his entire music team, made sure the whole resort could hear our dhol players, bringing in four talented drummers from NYC through Premier Drummers.

For decor, we partnered with Royal Charms from NYC, who was fantastic to work with! I shared my vision with her through pictures, and she brought it to life beautifully, adding her own personal touches.

One key decision we made early on was that Chowpatty Catering had to cater our events in Mexico; otherwise, we wouldn’t proceed with a destination wedding. They flew everything necessary for our events, and the food was exceptional! Guests particularly raved about the masala chai served for breakfast, alongside a traditional Gujarati breakfast—this was a highlight of the weekend!

For hair and makeup, I went with Mandy Bamrah from Canada. She made me feel like a princess at every event! I trusted her completely, even without a trial, and just shared my vision two weeks prior. She worked her magic flawlessly.

When it came to clothing, I knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding outfit—a rustic orange color—before heading to India. Shopping there was a breeze since I had a clear vision. Arjun, on the other hand, chose to work with Rivesse Clothing, and it turned out to be the best decision! We met with them before I selected my outfits, and after I shared my choices, they coordinated the colors perfectly. Their fit is incredible; honestly, if they offered women’s clothing, I would shop there too!

We also had a content creator, Amrish from RishCreations, who captured so many videos for us to share instantly on social media. He is beyond creative in his work!

Meghna from Colour Me Rouge handled my and all of the guests' henna and provided hair and makeup for our guests and family. She’s a family staple, having done my hair and makeup since I was 12 years old, even for prom! She brought a team of four to Mexico to cater to the 20+ people needing hair and makeup for our events.

As we were announced as husband and wife, we were treated to a spectacular fireworks show on the beach by Pyrotech.

Additionally, we had a talented flutist, Anis Chandani, fly in from Texas to play during our ceremony and cocktail hour. He engaged the guests beautifully, encouraging them to interact and dance during the cocktail hour, which our family loved!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part was being able to do it with Arjun. He was so hands-on throughout the entire process, sometimes even more than me. I think someone wants to come for my business! lol

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I believe what our guests appreciated most was how we spaced out our events, allowing them to enjoy both the resort and the beautiful sights of Cancun during the day before joining us for the celebrations at night. Throughout the planning process, our top priority was to create a memorable experience not just for ourselves but for all 350 guests who traveled to Mexico to celebrate with us over five days. We ensured they had delicious food throughout the weekend, and as a last-minute surprise on the day of our reception, we organized a pool party that everyone thoroughly enjoyed!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I have three things that I will never forget during my wedding weekend!

I had always dreamed of having my own baarat—after all, why should the groom have all the fun? We organized a double baarat, he had his car and I had my own, starting from opposite ends of an intersection and coming together in the middle as we made our way to the wedding ceremony. It was truly magical! I even performed a dance for Arjun, and just as I finished, we were blessed with a light drizzle for good luck before heading into our ceremony.

One thing that replays in my head from the entire weekend is when Kamlesh Uncle announced that we were married, and the fireworks went off behind us while our entire family cheered us on. I will never forget that moment when I married my best friend with all of our nearest family and friends watching us.

One UNFORGETTABLE moment from my wedding weekend was during the welcome party/henna night when I fell while dancing and tore my ACL. I had no idea what had happened, but all I knew at that moment was that it was not a regular fall. I powered through the entire weekend. I felt the effects on Tuesday when all of the events were done, and I ended up needing surgery two months afterward.

Remember to like, comment, and share your favorite part of Natasha & Arjun's big day!
