Agratta and Ankush’s wedding was a celebration of love, family, and individuality, set against the stunning backdrop of Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana, a picturesque venue that brought their vision to life. Their journey began during the pandemic in Jersey City, where their friendship blossomed over beers and adventures, providing much-needed solace during challenging times. For Agratta, Ankush’s unwavering acceptance of her quirks and his presence as a grounding force made her realize he was "the one."
Ankush’s proposal was straight out of a dream—on a rainy day in April aboard a boat in Positano, Italy. Despite the weather, the moment felt nothing short of magical. Fittingly, their wedding week also saw a touch of rain that cleared to reveal a stunning rainbow, cementing their belief in serendipity and good fortune.
Planning such an extraordinary event required a powerhouse team. Led by the talented Pearls Event and Co. and Chandni Mistry-Patel, every detail was meticulously crafted to reflect Agratta and Ankush’s unique personalities. The florals and décor were nothing short of breathtaking, with Creative Punta Cana and Mercaflor creating enchanting setups that transformed every space into a dreamy masterpiece.
The festivities kicked off with a bohemian, all-white welcome party set on the beach. Styled with chic lounges and a single long table, the decor perfectly complemented the couple’s matching Mahima Mahajan outfits. The vibrant Haldi ceremony transported guests to an Italian summer, featuring pops of pink and orange, pineapple piña coladas, and saffron champagne. The Sangeet brought jungle disco vibes, complete with LED performers and unforgettable family dances, with entertainment by HOTS Productions making the night truly electric.
The wedding day exuded elegance, with an acrylic mandap adorned with white florals that appeared to float, creating a dreamy ambiance. Thoughtful details, such as coconut water and popsicle carts, added a refreshing touch for the guests. The ceremony concluded with a burst of color bombs, followed by a beachside dinner illuminated by a dazzling fireworks show orchestrated by Firelab.
The grand finale was their black-and-white-themed reception, where Nihal Singh set the tone with a cocktail sundowner tabla performance before energizing the crowd with his dhol beats. DJ Arjun and DJ USA Events kept the dance floor alive, while Ankush surprised everyone with his Boiler Room-style DJ set. Adding to the magic, Agratta’s brother and Ankush’s mother, both professional singers, delivered heartfelt performances.
The entire celebration was beautifully captured by Precious Pics Production Inc., whose photography and cinematography immortalized every heartfelt moment. From flawless hair and makeup by Flawless by Pauline to exquisite cuisine by Junoon New York and Hemant Pathak, every detail was perfectly curated.
For Agratta and Ankush, the true highlight of the week was the overwhelming love and joy from their families and guests. Their wedding was truly one for the books that left everyone in awe.
Tell us how went about planning your wedding.
I wanted every event to be unique, breaking away from the typical Indian wedding themes, and staying true to who we are as a couple.
How did you select your bridal lengtha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My bridal lengha was a no-brainer. When I walked out in it, I saw the tears in my dad's eyes and knew it was the one. I always envisioned myself in a white or ivory legnha, so it felt perfect.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Honestly, not to sugarcoat it, but planning the wedding was tough—it was stressful, emotionally exhausting, and overwhelming. However, seeing the excitement and happiness on my family’s faces made it all worthwhile. Even months later, I live in the pure joy and love I witnessed in my parents and brother. Despite challenges like our house being destroyed by a flood during the wedding week, my parents never showed stress or worry—they were simply happy. Seeing them so elated was the best part for me.
What did your guests particularly love about your wedding?
We’ve heard from guests that they loved how present Ankush and I were at every event. We made a point to be there before each event started to welcome everyone, even if it meant sacrificing some photoshoot time. Guests also appreciated the thoughtful details and personal touches throughout the celebrations.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Honestly, the entire week feels like a high that I keep reliving. The energy and love from our families stand out, and I still watch our same-day reel daily—it’s such a special memory.
Do you have any words of wisdom for brides-to-be?
It all works out in the end. Once you’re in the moment, all the little things fade away. This is truly a magical experience, unlike anything else. Embrace it!
Anything else you want to tell us?
What made our wedding truly special was how close our families are. Our parents are best friends, so there were no formalities or stiffness—just pure joy and fun. We were also fortunate to have Sonu Nigam, who is family, join us during his trip to the U.S. He gave a heartfelt welcome speech and made the start of our wedding week even more memorable.
