Pompton Plains, NJ Indian Wedding by Ivash Photography

After dating long-distance for over six years, Jasmin and Aakash finally have their happily ever after! The duo's luxe-filled big day was the culmination of their love story. So, after delaying their 2020 wedding, they finally sent out the invites expertly created by The Royal Collection to make it happen almost a year later! With the help of one of the best wedding professionals Urvashi Mishra Wedding Planner, they threw their luxe celebration at the legendary The Legacy Castle. The lavish interiors were the setting for their beautiful ceremony and accommodated their vast guest list for their elegant reception. Jasmin and Aakash decided to see each other before the ceremony. Their first look came as Aakash dropped thousands of rose petals from a helicopter (Yes, a HELICOPTER!) during the baraat procession! He also chartered a fleet of luxury cars provided by Monaco Exotics for his groomsmen could enter the ceremony in big style. This baraat really had us hooked! Maharani Jasmin was breathtaking and turned heads as she walked down the aisle! I love how she finished the look with exquisite jewelry that included a lovely Kaleera design and flawless hair and makeup by Cinderella Bridez! They promised each other forever under a dramatic floral mandap and later danced the night away with their closest friends and family in a gorgeous extravaganza thanks to Elegant Affairs. They created a natural and serene setting with cherry blossom trees, magnificent floral arrangements, and candlelights. When they look back on their wedding day images, this two will know it was everything they wanted and will evoke all the emotions lived. Thankfully, fine art photo artist Ivash Photography captured this luxe bash with a candid or natural approach so Jasmin and Aakash could cheerish themforever. Please visit our full gallery and take a peek at every shot.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We were in a long distance relationship for 6 years. He was in California and I was in New Jersey. We had a 3 hour time difference. However he put in a lot of effort coming to see me every few months. In total we've taken over 40 flights, spent over 400 hours flying and travelled over 40,000 miles. I knew he was the way when I saw how he cared for his family and then eventually mine. He's very self sacrificing and family means the world to him. I knew one day I could easily build a family with him since we both have the same priorities in life. He exudes confidence and navigates through the most difficult situations with ease. He's levelheaded and maintains a strong positive mindset. As corny as it sounds, it sometimes feels like he's a prince out of a fairytale movie because he's got a solution for anything and everything in life! He doesn't give up easy in life so I knew he would never give up on our relationship no matter the distance and difficulties.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Aakash and I wanted to go on a family vacation so both sides of the family can get to know one another even better and make lifelong memories. I knew the plan was to rent a yacht and spend a day at Sea in Mexico. What I did not know was that he planned on proposing to me on that yacht. We were doing a family photoshoot on the yacht and somehow he managed to trick me into believing we're going to do solo shots. So I waited by the edge of the yacht facing the Sea and when I turned out he was on his knees with a ring. I will never forget that moment. He's someone who you'll never see cry in a lifetime, hardly shows a vulnerable soft side to anyone and that day when he proposed he shed a few tears trying to explain how much I mean to him. Some moments in life you just can't put into words. Would love to share those photos if needed!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We started planning the wedding in 2019 and originally did most of the shopping in India and set the wedding date in June 2020. However the pandemic happened in March 2020 and from there on, our wedding kept getting rescheduled multiple times. We came up with new dates several times and finally set on Monday July 26 2021. So much time went by from when we bought out wedding clothes in 2019 so I purchased all wedding outfits all over again from New Jersey. I still have original wedding lehenga that I never wore. Who knows I'll use for a vow renewal haha. But a lot of the vendors and venues were getting booked up so we had to settle for a Monday wedding. Our wedding Planner Urvashi made sure we had the best team of decorators, caterers, DJs, make up working with us. Every category she ensured it was the best choice for us.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Everyone loved that Aakash being a groom personally oversaw everything at the wedding, he checked in with everyone personally to make sure they're enjoying the occasion. Everyone loved the fleet of luxury cars Aakash got all his groomsmen to drive in for his baraat and loved his entry in a helicopter!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
When I got ready as a bride and walked into the terrace of Legacy Castle, I heard the helicopter sound and my heart started beating fast. I knew it was him but what I did not was that he was going to shower us with roses. I always replay the moment of looking at the sky, with roses falling from above and the sound of his helicopter. Felt like a Bollywood movie. For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details. From my proposal in Mexico, to the pre wedding shoot in Death Valley Dessert in California to the wedding shopping in India & New Jersey to the bridesmaids proposal in NYC and finally to the wedding in Legacy Castle, New Jersey we've made memories all! I loved that we were able to customize our wedding outfits with our names engraved my wedding veil and Aakash's sherwani sleeve.

Whippany, NJ Indian Wedding by Aesthetic Vision

I have the pleasure of introducing an absolute vision of love thanks to the amazing images shared by Aesthetic Vision! Avani and Jay are today's lucky couple who celebrated their union having a series of big days. The celebrated wedding expert Tum Hi Ho Events planned and brought to life the events before they exchanged vows which are all narrated through the fabulous images we are about to unveil! An auspicious mehndi ceremony decorated the arms of our lovely bride and was followed by a joyous and well-attended Garba night. I particularly love the couple's bright and vivid outfits that were perfect to stand out among the crowd. Maharani Avani's ruby color lehenga skirt featured beautiful dandiya dancers and her floral low bun created by Style by Susmita was perfect for a revelry event while Jay's super-stylish and traditional outfit truly made a statement! Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Jay proposed on our 6 year anniversary, 4/21/2017. He planned an entire day full of surprises! He involved my managers and work and planned on getting me out of work early. He sent a limo to pick me up and had flowers and a letter waiting for me. He had the limo drive us to our first date spot, Acquista Trattoria, in Queens, NY. My two best friends were waiting for me there with my second clue! He then had the limo drive us to our college campus, where we met! He had my cousin waiting there for me with different outfits and shoes to choose from. We quickly got ready and hit the road again! We drove through the city, stopping off at Pellegrino's Italian Restaurant in Little Italy, where we celebrated our first Valentine's Day. We picked up a few more of my cousins who had the final clue! The limo drove us to my dream proposal, right under the Brooklyn Bridge! As I got out of the limo, my heart was racing, knowing the man of my dreams was waiting for me. I started walking towards him, with the biggest smile on my face. He had the cutest little picnic set up, with some champagne, cheese, and crackers, and chocolate covered strawberries. He had pictures of us set up with wooden blocks of our initials. It was the sweetest little setup! He sat me down, and asked how my day was (knowing exactly how it was since he planned the whole thing!) He soon got into talking about a lot of things I don't really remember because I was just SO excited! What I do remember are his last words, "Avani, will you marry me?" as he was holding the most beautiful ring ever! I said the quickest YES of my life and gave him the biggest hug and kiss! Before I know it, all of our siblings, cousins, and closest friends came running out and surprised me! We took some pictures, and later met up with our parents for dinner. After dinner, Jay had rented out an Airbnb which was full of ALL of our friends and family! We celebrated all night and had the best time! At the end of it all, I was FINALLY engaged to the man of my dreams, and it was the proposal I had always wanted!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
For as long as I can remember, I always saved pictures of different outfits for whenever I got married. I knew I wanted to be a traditional bride, wearing lots of red. When I went shopping for my lengha, we went straight to Sabyasachi, in Mumbai. I fell in love with everything. As I tried different lenghas on, I felt my self drawing back to the first one I had tried! It was a beautiful shade of red, with very detailed work. The skirt had intricate blush flowers on it and it came with 2 different dupatta options: red or blush pink. I thought I wanted two different dupattas, one red and one blush, but when I was trying them on the all red look just swept me off my feet! I couldn't stop staring at the lengha. It was the first place we had gone, so my mom and I decided that we would look around and see what else there was and then come back if we didn't find anything that made me feel as good as that lengha did. Every shop I went into after that, I kept comparing it to the Sabyasachi lengha. I knew after 2 shops that my heart and mind were with the first one. A few days later we made our way back to Sabyasachi and said YES to the lengha! It was the most beautiful lengha! I couldn't have found something more perfect for me!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
My favorite parts of wedding planning we definitely picking out our menu and decor. AND WEDDING SHOPPING!I loved trying so many different foods! Rasoi was the best! We had a strictly no onion, no garlic menu and they catered to our every need! The food at the food tasting was phenomenal, and the exact same food is what our guest ate during all the wedding events! I also loved picking out our decor. Sharda at Elegant Affairs showed up the most magical mandap and we fell in love. I had saved so many pictures of what I thought I wanted but she showed us so many more pictures and we created the perfect mandap for us to take our pheras in! And the centerpieces she chose for us, blew our minds away! Beautiful cherry blossoms trees, Florals pieces, and candles and petals! She tied all the tables together by incorporating florals and candles. It was stunning! But how could I forget the wedding shopping! Getting dolled up every day and trying on new outfits and jewelry was SO MUCH FUN! It gets a little stressful at times but overall the whole experience was so great!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Aside from watching Jay and I get married and celebrating with us, our guest loved three things in particular! 1) they all loved the food provided by Rasoi! They had so much fun during cocktail hours since we had so many different stations up! 2) they loved the organization and execution! We got SO MANY compliments on how smoothly a 1000 person wedding went! and we have none other than Tum Hi Ho Events to thank for that! They really put their all into our wedding day and it couldn't have gone better! 3) music!! MVPDJs absolutely ROCKED the night. Jay only had one request during wedding planning and that was to have a concert at our reception! and MVPDJs, especially JRK definitely delivered on that request! They provided us with CO2 cannons and amazing music! the crowd was on the dance floor till past midnight, and so many of them forgot about dinner because they couldn't get themselves off the dance floor! Our lighting company also provided us with a laser show, so my husband's dream of a concert at our reception definitely came true!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
My words of wisdom for Brides-to-be would be to just enjoy the process, and take it all in! It's the same advice other brides gave me, and it was the best advice! I miss every bit of wedding planning and the wedding week and I would do anything to go back! It passes by in the blink of an eye, so don't stress the little things as the big day comes closer. Just enjoy it, have so much fun, and remember what it's really about, marrying the love of your life and starting the most beautiful journey together.

Don't go too far, you are going to love the portraits we have coming up next!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I was introduced to him by family friends, who thought we would be great for each other. Two weeks and several phone calls later, Vishal claims he knew I was the one he was going to spend the rest of his life with. For me, it took a little longer. I would like to think that I’m a fairly reserved person. But after meeting with Vishal just a couple of times, he had me spilling my secrets. He just had a certain 'Je ne sais quoi' that I fell for. I feel like I definitely took a shot in the dark with Vishal but I'm so glad I made it. The single best decision of my life.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
At the time, Vishal lived in Houston, and I was in OKC. Vishal planned a trip to New Orleans since neither of us had been before. The plan was for me to fly there and Vishal was going to drive because it was only a 4-hour drive from Houston. Plans were almost cancelled because hurricane Harvey was supposed to hit Houston the day he was leaving. I pleaded with him to reschedule the trip, but he was adamant about meeting this specific weekend. I was so angry and confused about him being so stubborn and I was scared at the thought of him driving through a hurricane.

When we both made it to NOLA safely, he had an entire day worth of a treasure hunt around the city planned for me. It included places to eat, drink, and tourist attractions! Geocaching was something we enjoyed together and he said that he thought it would be fun to make one personally for me. The last stop on the treasure hunt was on this small stone bridge in this beautiful park where he let me struggle to find some sort of treasure that he had hidden. After struggling and finding nothing, I turn around and he’s on his knee with a ring in his hand! Of course, I said yes and hysterically awed at my ring before giving him a huge hug (which btw he won't let me live down)! I didn’t know it at the time, but he had hired a professional photographer that was hiding behind one of the bushes nearby. I don’t think I could ever forget that wonderful day!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process for me was getting to spend time with my mom and being able to plan my wedding with her.  There were so many days that became emotional and stressful but there were SO many more days where we just laughed and had a great time. She's been by my side since day one and did everything to make this THE wedding of my dreams.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
If I had to pick one, It would have to be the reception. Our DJ (DJ Riz) was amazing and the dance floor was packed from the very beginning until the very end.  He kept the party going with his great selection of songs and his contagious energy. It felt like a true party. Family and friends would not stop talking about it for weeks!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
By far the most special moment during the wedding festivities took place the night before our wedding. I was exhausted and getting ready to go to bed, trying to shoo my cousins out of my room. Just as I was finally able to get the room to myself, I got a call from Vishal and he told me to come outside because he needed to drop off some stuff for the ceremony. He had his car parked in a corner, attempting to be discrete and not be seen by any of my family. I figured I’d pick up the items and head to bed since we had a big day tomorrow. We ended up sitting in the car and talking about things that we don’t even remember anymore. We completely lost track of time. After an hour or so, we decided we better get some sleep before we both missed the ceremony the next morning! We said our good nights and I took the box and went to my room. To my surprise, I opened the box and it was empty! I don't know why this particular moment meant so much to me, but it just did.

We hope you all enjoyed reliving this sparkling event as much as we did! See you tomorrow.
