Dallas, TX Gujarati Wedding by William Bichara Photography

Step into a world where Gujarati tradition meets Texas charm. Kinal & Hamish's wedding took guests on a journey filled with vibrant colors, heartfelt rituals, and, yes, even cowboy boots! These two tied the knot in an unforgettable celebration that blended Gujarati heritage with unexpected twists and Western flair.

The Renaissance Addison Dallas provided the perfect backdrop for this beautiful day. Known for its grand architecture and luxurious ballrooms, it set the stage for a wedding that was as elaborate as it was elegant. From the moment guests stepped into the venue, it was clear they were in for an extraordinary experience. Dream Geplant Event ensured that every detail radiated charm and sophistication, reflecting the Gujarati essence of their love story.

Kinal made a jaw-dropping entrance and was dressed in the finest creations by designers like Papa Don't Preach by Shubhika and Seema Gujral. In true Texas fashion, she even donned a pair of Ariat boots from Cavender's Boot City for a few line-dancing moves—a delightful nod to her new Texan roots. With hair and makeup by Makeup and Hair by Pooja, Makeup by Ranjanasingh, and Makeup Faced, every photo captured by William Bichara Photography was breathtaking.

Divine Decor of Dallas greeted guests with dreamy flowers and decor. And just when everyone thought they had seen it all, the familiar sounds of a Mariachi band filled the air! Yes, Mariachi Arraigo stole the show with a Texas twist, even throwing in a few Bollywood beats to get everyone moving. Food was another showstopper. Just as everyone thought it couldn't get any better, Desi Junction DJs set the dance floor on fire, leading into a night of non-stop dancing with performances by Khanak Dance Troupe and a surprise line-dancing set by a team from Dallas! Kinal and Hamish's wedding wasn't just a union; it was a blend of cultures, a celebration of love, and a night that left guests smiling and saying, "Only in Texas!"

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

Just 75 miles off the coast of Florida at the Dry Tortugas National Park, we shared our special moment where he proposed to me in Feb 2023!
My husband hired a private charter boat the day of our proposal. We left from Key West with a few of our friends on that boat, spent half the morning at Dry Tortugas exploring and shortly into our day he popped the question! Dry Tortugas is truly a unique National Park in that is only accessible by boat or seaplane and I had been talking about wanting to visit there for awhile.

I was walking along the fort and to my surprise when he turned around, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was truly such an exciting and overwhelming moment!

Prior to the proposal, we spent severael days before exploring other national parks including Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park. It was a beautiful and adventurous week leading up to the proposal!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

Our wedding events were from March 14th-16th of this year and the wedding was on March 16th, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. We are both Gujarati and had all the traditional Hindu ceremonies leading up to our reception! The events we had were: Haldi, Grah Satak/Vidhi (honoring bride and groom's sides separately), Sangeet/Garba night, Wedding and then Reception. All of our events were at the same venue at the Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel. Each event was planned out well and was on time. We made sure there was a good mix of different kinds of decor and food for each event as well and had kid-friendly foods as well. We decided to hire professional entertainment regarding dances for the sangeet/garba and the reception. For the sangeet/garba night, we had a professional indian dance team perform bhangra and bollywood style dances and for the reception we had a professional line dancing team from Dallas perform a few dances as well and gave line dancing lessons at the reception also. For the reception, we also had a mariachi band during the cocktail hour. For my grah satak event, my entire family color coordinated and wore jewel tones (shades of pink and green) which complemented me well as I wore a purple outfit.

My mom (Sudha) and I came up with the idea for the country western/Texan theme and dress code for the reception. Our reception entry was a bit unique as well as we entered into the ballroom via a Jeep Gladiator (the driver was the owner of the car himself). Shortly after our entry, we had our first dance then cake cutting which was also country western themed. We had a few speeches from friends and family, mother-son dance, mother-daughter dance, and then line dancing performances along with line dancing lessons. Shortly after that, we had dinner served and a soul train dance off to open up the dance floor. At the end, my husband and I had fun with the CO2 blaster into the crowd! Our wedding coordinator (Dustin) from the Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel helped us with the idea of driving a car into the ballroom for our reception entry as neither of us are big dancers ourselves and wanted to do something different for our reception entry. Our reception entry (coming in via a red jeep gladiator) from an elevator at the back of the ballroom into the ballroom was such a big hit and surprise for our guests. It was quite possibly the most exciting moment for us too. It was also amazing seeing all our guests embrace the country western/Texan dress code. The most impressive part of the reception was definitely the decor as our decorator (Ketan with Divine Decor of Dallas and his team) did such a phenomenal job with the country western/Texan theme. From giant sized boots, hay stacks, barrels as the backdrop to cowboy hats/boots/floral arrangements as the table center pieces, the entire setup looked spectacular. We gave out horse shoes as our reception favors.

Hair/Makeup:

All of my bridal hair and makeup was done by a very efficient, talented, and amazing makeup artist in Dallas (Makeup and Hair by Pooja (her name is Pooja Nagpal). She gave me looks that complemented each event really well and helped drape my outfits to truly bring out the best look for each outfit as well. I felt that all of my looks were truly exactly what I had envisioned. We had other hair and makeup teams for family and friends including Ranjana Singh for family, Reetu and Vanity By Shreya for bridesmaids and they did also did an amazing job with them.

Outfits:

My Haldi outfit was purchased at G3 fashions in Surat, India. My husband's Vidhi outfit was purchased at G3 fashions in Surat, India. My purple outfit for the Grah Satak was purchased online from Ricco India.

Both bride and groom's sangeet/garba and wedding outfits were purchased at Panache By Sharmeen in Houston, Texas. Our sangeet/garba outfits were Liz Paul (designer) from Panache by Sharmeen. My bridal outfit was Seema Gujral from Panache By Sharmeen. G3 fashions, Ricco India, and Panache By Sharmeen all did such an excellent job throughout the entire outfit shopping process. They all made our shopping experience seamless as they were excellent with communication, helped with the selection process, and altered our outfits to our likes and needs for each event. My reception outfit was a Papa don't preach by shubhika outfit from Panache by Sharmeen. My reception outfit was customized by Panache by Sharmeen so that I could wear it with cowboy boots for our country western theme. My sister gave me that idea to pair up a papa don't preach outfit with cowboy boots for the reception! My husband's reception outfit came from Cavender's Boot City. The brown blazer he wore at the reception was designed by Mubarak Designer Studio in India. We both bought our cowboy boots and hats at the Cavender's Boot City in Dallas. The store assistants at Cavender's Boot City helped us a great deal in helping us pick out our boots and hats and were a huge help putting together the rest of my husband's outfit.

Decor:

Our hardworking decorator (Ketan/Divine Decor of Dallas) was creative and truly remarkable in turning our venue into a beautiful space for each event. Divine Decor of Dallas did an incredible for all of our events! Their attention to detail and creativity truly transformed our venue into a magical setting that exceeded all our expectations. Every element, from the elegant centerpieces to the stunning floral arrangements, to the cutest country western decor for our Texan themed reception contributed to making our wedding weekend absolutely perfect. We received countless compliments from our guests about how beautiful everything looked, and it's all thanks to Divine decor’s amazing team.
Ketan was an absolute pleasure to work with, and we appreciated his professionalism and dedication throughout the entire process.

All of our vendors for everything were absolutely phenomenal and worked tirelessly throughout the entire weekend. It is truly thanks to the vendors, our wedding planner (Divyesh "DP" Patel with DreamGePlant), our wedding coordinator (Dustin) at our incredible venue Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel, and of course the help from our family, family friends, and friends who made our wedding weekend spectacular in every way. Of course seeing all the people we love in one place throughout the weekend was the highlight in itself.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

My sister-in-law (Divya) and my sister (Rupal) helped me pick out my wedding outfit and told me about different designers. I knew I didn't want to wear all red but otherwise did not have a color in mind. I wanted to wear something a little more unique which is why I went with an all white and pearl outfit with a red veil along with the tiara I wore. It all seemed like it would go well together. I went with a Seema Gujral outfit from Panache By Sharmeen in Houston, Texas.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

Our wedding planning started about a year prior to our wedding day. I'd admit that the best part of our wedding planning was working with our wedding planner - Divyesh "DP" Patel. He truly knew how to highlight the joys of wedding planning and remove all the obstacles that most couples face when trying to create their dream wedding. We had a few "asks", "don'ts" and "wants" that DP executed without any flaws. We truly wanted our guests to be comfortable, wanted everything to be convenient for them from the venue, to food, and entertainment. He turned our vision of having an Indian wedding with a Texas twist into a reality while simultaneously engaging our guests to join in on the theme! We developed a strong friendship with DP that will last forever.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Our guests told us that it was the most creative, extensive and meticulously planned and executed wedding they had attended. They enjoyed the food, entertainment, and loved the decor for each event. Our guests also loved that we took out the time to acknowledge them even though the weekend was busy. The guests also mentioned that the organization and timing was very well executed throughout the entire weekend. Everyone felt warm and welcomed and got to know our wedding planner so well. Our wedding planner (Divyesh "DP" Patel/DreamGePlantEvent and his team) received many compliments for executing the weekend so well. Our guests also really enjoyed our unique reception in that there was a theme being the country western/Texan theme and dress code. The guests really enjoyed that the reception almost felt like a theme party that they were a part of. 90% of our guests followed the country western/Texan dress code for the reception and really had fun with it in general. Many of our guests said that they felt like we had started a trend in making our reception "different" than the standard.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

Please refer to above ^

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

My mom did all my jewelry shopping in India and facetimed with me over the course of a week to match my jewelry with my outfits. My sister bought me the tiara I wore for the wedding. Our cake was country western/Texan themed as well (made by Anita from Bimini Sweets). We received many compliments on how delicious the cake was and the presentation of good it looked to go with our theme. Whisk Dallas (Pankti Patel) set up a dessert bar during our sangeet/garba night and for the reception as well. Her dessert bar presentation for the reception went so well with our Texan theme. We had tres leches, churros, cookies/brownies/macaroons/cowboy boot shaped cheesecake bites/chocolate covered pretzels at the dessert bar for the reception.

My mom ordered many of our flower garlands from Hawaii (hawaiian lei company) which looked beautiful all throughout!
One Vendor we did not mention above was our caterer for all our food, Harish Patel with Namaste Catering. Our guests loved all the food at every event. At some of the events we had other cuisines as well which our caterer did a great job preparing (Tex Mex and indian food at the reception, at the sangeet/garba we had indian, mexican, and asian food). He prepared the kid food friendly foods for some of the events as well.

The mehndi artists were wonderful as well. My bridal mehndi was done by Pooja Inani who did a a great job with the details and she was so efficient as well.

Another vendor who did an amazing job was our stationary vendor (Raveena with DesignsAndFavors). She worked so hard and was able to customize designs and was always prompt to respond with any last minute changes. She was so fun and easy to work with!

Stay tuned for our next feature as we continue to celebrate love stories and unforgettable moments.

Get ready to be inspired by Monika & Neal's stunning celebration on today's Platinum Guide Blog!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

I matched with my knight in shining armor, Neal, on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel. From our first conversation, I felt an instant connection unlike anything I had experienced before. We shared the same sense of humor and a multitude of interests, allowing our conversations to flow effortlessly, whether online or over the phone. As we got to know each other better, it became clear that Neal not only understood me on a deeper level but also encouraged me to be my best self. I could be completely myself around him, which was incredibly refreshing. Our first date was the moment everything clicked into place. Neal showed up with a stunning bouquet of flowers, and right from the start, he infused our time with endless laughter. The chemistry was palpable, and I felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach - something I hadn't felt in a long time. By the end of the evening, I realized that this was more than just a first date; it was the beginning of something special. The comforting excitement I felt made me believe he truly was "the one". To this day, Neal continues to make my heart flutter, reminding me of that magical first evening and the incredible journey we're on together.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

One of our many common interests is our deep love for travel. Neal and I often find ourselves exploring new places, whether it's wandering through charming cities, hiking in nature, or soaking up different cultures. Within the first year of dating, we were fortunate enough to make multiple different trips to various locations throughout North America. Being the travel bugs that we are, we always talked about making a trip over to somewhere in Europe and Neal ran with it. After confirming the dates with me, he went ahead and booked flights, hotels, and activities to this mystery destination that Neal insisted on keeping a secret. As we drove to the airport the day of our flight, there was a mix of nerves and excitement. I still didn't know where we were going and my mind raced with endless possibilities. It wasn't until we arrived at the check-in counter that I was handed our boarding passes. Milan - we were going to be spending a week in Italy!! My heart soared - I always dreamed of visiting Italy. Milan, Venice, and Lake Como were the cities he had picked out.

Living in Philadelphia and planning a proposal in Venice wasn't easy - Neal hired an event planner who helped him iron out all of the details. After a day of exploring the bustling streets of Venice and lots of pasta, Neal suggested we have a lowkey evening. As we were getting ready for this "lowkey" evening, Neal put on a white blazer and I knew. I frantically texted my sisters asking for advice on how I should do my hair, which heels I should wear, which handbag I should take. After getting ready, we walked for what seemed like forever to a private rose garden right on the Grand Canal. The tears started flowing with an overwhelming sense of love and happiness. The planner guided us to a small table set for two, adorned with candles, champagne, and more roses. My heart raced as Neal took my hand and led me to the center of the garden where a heart was drawn out with rose petals. He knelt down and pulled out a stunning ring. Tears of joy streamed down my face, unable to form words. It was perfect, Neal is perfect, and the love woven into every detail made it a memory I will cherish forever.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

Planning our wedding was an exciting yet challenging journey that involved a lot of decision-making and creativity. We had the honor of having our big day at The Merion, an exquisite wedding venue in Cinnaminson, NJ. I toured this venue back in 2019 - before I had met Neal - and this was my dream venue. That being said, after we were engaged and starting out the wedding planning process, the top of our list was to secure a venue. We wanted a place that reflected our style and could accommodate our long guest list. The first venue we officially toured was The Merion and there was no going back.  The luxurious Skylight Ballroom with all its natural lighting took my breath away. It was simply the perfect vision for a morning ceremony.

For MUAH, I wanted a look that felt both elegant and natural. I researched local artists and eventually found Pauline. Being the sweetheart that she is, she listened to my vision and made me feel more at ease on the big day. I didnt have the chance to do a trial for neither makeup nor hair, but I was so confident in Pauline's talent. We spoke on the phone a few times to to discuss some inspo pics and the vibes that I wanted for not only the wedding and reception, but also my pre-wedding festivities. I loved how she captured the essence of what I wanted so effortlessly!

Going shopping for the multiple outfits I needed for my week of celebrations was one of the most fun parts! I had the opportunity to go to India for almost 3.5 weeks - and more importantly, to visit family whom I hadn't seen in years as well as meet some of Neal's extended family. We went to a few local boutiques before travelling to India where I tried on more dresses than I can count! I wanted a feel of the color, style, and material before officially diving in. For the ceremony I opted for a traditional red color lehenga from Asopalav and a custom made white lehenga for the reception. Fun fact about my reception outfit - I had the designers use the dupatta to create an attached cape-like sleeve so I wouldn't have to worry about my dupatta sliding off my shoulder as I danced the night away.

We spoke to multiple decor companies, but Florista Decor stood out. After speaking with Angella once, we were confident that she would make our vision a reality. The Florista Decor team did a phenomenal job with their decor for our wedding and reception! The team beautifully transformed our venue into a mesmerizing dream. Florista was able to bring our vision to life, even incorporating elements from the venue so beautifully. From the gorgeous fresh floral arrangements, elegant drapery, to all of the gold elephants, every detail reflected their artistic flair. The use of traditional components, intricate mandap designs, and modern elements added an authentic touch that wowed all our guests. We were in utter shock at how creatively and organically everything was brought together, more than we imagined. Florista went above and beyond, turning our dream wedding into a reality with their creativity and meticulous execution. The team was an absolute pleasure to work with.

Being the foodies that we are, Neal and I prioritized food and drinks. We also both have a MASSIVE sweet tooth. The Merion transformed the entire cocktail hour space into a mouth watering dessert room. Donut walls, truffles, chocolate fountains, funnel cake, snow cones, fried oreos, cannolis, chocolate fudge, smores and so much more!! It was truly amazing.

The entire process, while sometimes stressful, was incredibly rewarding and it brought us closer together. On the wedding day, seeing everything come together—our venue, decor, and the love from family and friends—made it all worth it. It truly was a day to remember, filled with joy, laughter, and love.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

Although things did get stressful here and there, we would not have been able to pull off our big day without our wonderful wedding coordinators, Karthika and Juhi, from Our Day Events! They were simply amazing and helped to ensure our wedding planning journey was as smooth as possible. Neal and I celebrated every milestone along the way - no matter how small. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent together making sure our special day was a blend of the best parts of both of us.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

Although Neal and I shared a heartfelt first look prior to the ceremony, the moment that constantly replays in my mind is when we first saw each other on the stage under the mandap. As the antarpat was lowered, a wave of emotions washed over me - joy, love, and an overwhelming sense of connection. My heart raced as our eyes met, both of us teary-eyed. I felt as if the world around us faded away, leaving just the two of us in that magical moment, ready to embark on our journey together. I remember seeing the warmth of Neal's smile that truly illuminated the space. I could see the love in his eyes, a reflection of all our shared dreams and promises, and a vow to face whatever life has in store for us.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

To any and all brides-to-be, my main advice to you would be to stay true to yourself! Your special day is a reflection of you and your partner and don't feel pressured to follow trends and/or traditions that don't resonate with you. Planning can get stressful at times, but remember to enjoy the journey and celebrate the little milestones along the way. Things may not go exactly as planned, and that's ok! Everything will come together in the end, and trust that you and your partner have planned well, and focus on the love that brought you to this day.

A beautiful celebration of love and culture, that wove together tradition and modernity.

Nashua, NH Fusion Wedding by Sadowski Photography

Paige & Suhail's fusion wedding was nothing short of magical in the heart of New Hampshire. The beautiful Sheraton Nashua, grand architecture, and modern yet timeless charm provided the perfect backdrop for their special day. The venue's spacious ballrooms, adorned with elegant chandeliers and stunning décor, set the stage for an unforgettable celebration.

When guests walked in, they were greeted by a breathtaking display courtesy of Crimson & Clover. The floral arrangements were a sight, with lush blooms whispering "romance" with every petal. The décor seamlessly blended Western sophistication and South Asian vibrancy, proving that something stunning happens when two worlds come together. The exquisite cuisine from Kashmir Indian Restaurant elevated the culinary experience. Known for its authentic flavors and diverse menu.

And let's talk about Paige for a second. She was the epitome of grace in her gown, with a smile that could light up the entire room. Suhail? Let's just say the groom was equally dashing, rocking his attire confidently, saying, "Yep, I'm the lucky one." Together, they made a picture-perfect pair that Sadowski Photography captured flawlessly. Trust us, the photos are the kind you frame in your living room and show off to anyone who visits, even if they've already seen them a dozen times.

Now, what's a wedding without a little fun, right? Your Way DJ kept the energy alive and packed the dance floor all night. There wasn't a dull moment, whether it was traditional tunes that got the family up for some cultural dance-offs or the latest hits that had everyone feeling the beat. As the night ended, it was clear this wasn't just any wedding. It celebrated love, unity, and the blending of two beautiful cultures. The kind of wedding makes you say, "Wow, that was something special!"

Want to see more from Paige & Suhail's incredible day? Head over to our Instagram, where we'll share all the highlights and some behind-the-scenes moments you won't want to miss.

Explore today's Platinum Guide Blog to glimpse Andrea & Mihir's romantic wedding details!

bride and groom,large window,scenic view,candid portrait,waterfront wedding

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

I first met Mihir in one of our neighborhood bars in 2019, except he was my bartender and I was on a date with another person. We hit it off before my date got there, but once the date officially started I didn't see Mihir again for another year. A year later, I bump into him again. And again, we hit it off. I start seeing him around the neighborhood over and over again to the point I started avoiding bars and cafes so it didn't seem like I was stalking him. Turns out he not only worked near my apartment, he also lived a few blocks away. Knowing that COVID lock-down was going to happen, I went out one last time before everything shut down in NYC on March 15 and was able to finally get his number. We talked everyday via Zoom as his parents took him back home to NJ and we didn't see each other for 6 months (until his parents gave us the ok!). So long story short - I knew he was the one when he surprised me with flowers at my apartment door. We hugged for the first time and it felt like I was hugging someone I knew a lifetime.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Honestly, there's no scoop! He popped the question 5 minutes before my therapy session because he got too excited after buying the ring. He was no longer able to propose in my hometown as our flight was cancelled due to a snow storm, so he improvised.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
It was important for my husband, Mihir, and I to find a venue that was accessible with all food diets. The second we saw the food menu with Pier Sixty/Current, we knew the were the right venue for us. We wanted a venue that was in NYC as we wanted our non-city family to be able to enjoy and love the city we adore. To have a venue on the water was just an added bonus!

All of our vendors were amazing, and would recommend them anyday.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went to a few bridal shops in NJ and NYC, with both family and friends. I didn't have a favorite color in mind, but I was avoiding one color - pink. I purchased my lengha from NDNY in NYC and there was some miscommunication on the base color. When I opened the box, to my horror, it was all pink!

But Vaishali from NDNY convinced me to stay with the color vs purchasing a new lengha and I'm glad I did. I have never been one to wear colors other than black. Now, I see pink as a color that brings back wonderful memories of our wedding and I'm much more comfortable and happier wearing it. Thanks, Vaishali :)

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
So many things - we connected with our vendors a lot. Our photographer, Ellie Mae, had a few calls with us to chat photo ops but also to just check in on us. She was great and chatting with her always reminded us how much we love each other even if things felt stressful.

Lilly Rivera, my MUA, and I had so much fun during my hair and makeup trial that it lasted around 4 hours (oops)! We really did love our vendors and how down to earth they are!!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The food, the dancing, the music and the company. To this day, we still are told that our wedding was one of the best weddings they have been to.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Two moments, actually. The first special moment was when Mihir, my MIL and I had an impromptu dance scene once didi tera devar deewana started playing. Everyone thought we rehearsed it. People weren't expecting it, and honestly neither did we.

Second moment was when a guest convinced the DJ to stay at the venue to play Mr. Brightside. I had no idea people loved that song so much - everyone went crazy and it was the moment we both realized how much fun everyone was having.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

We wanted to highlight our Indian and Italian backgrounds when it came to the food at the venue and for the wedding favors. I'm gluten and dairy intolerant, so food was a huge detail when choosing a venue. The venue totally killed it and did an amazing job combining flavors, dishes and adapting on the spot to guest's dietary restrictions. People still rave about it to this day.

For our wedding favors, we chose brass elephant tea light holders and brass pomegranate dishes for guests to take home.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Take it a day at a time. Wedding planning can be extremely stressful and things will go wrong, that's just life! But when those moments where things go wrong happen, just remember that you and your partner are in it together. Those moments will be the ones that will strengthen and test your relationship.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

Our henna artist, Sejal is the best! You can view her work at @trendyhenna.

Sweeties, don't forget to tag us and share your favorite moment from Andrea & Mihir's big day!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met online, and after texting back and forth, we met for our first date in Brooklyn, where I lived at the time! We went out for dinner, and the conversation flowed naturally as we realized how much we had in common. I knew he was the one who had a similar personality, how he always made me laugh at silly jokes, and especially because we bonded over our common love language of sharing food!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
One of my favorite shows has always been The Bachelor/Bachelorette. Knowing this, he recreated a Bachelorette finale and proposed with a traditional Bachelor proposal! We were on our way to what I thought was his work holiday party, with plans to meet some friends at The Fleur Room in NYC beforehand. As we stepped into the empty rooftop, I assumed we were the first ones there until he played a video from Jesse Palmer welcoming me to my final rose ceremony and proposal! After I said yes, he surprised me with our parents, family, and friends coming to The Fleur Room to celebrate the night with us.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We planned our wedding in about 8-9 months, and planning involved lots of checklists, Google Docs, and phone/video calls! We did a lot of research to pick our vendors, but once we did, everything fell into place really quickly. We were looking to have a traditional Indian wedding with modern and fun twists, and all of our vendors really helped us achieve this. For our decor and color scheme, the first thing we picked was the colors of my bridal, reception, and bridesmaids' outfits, and then the rest of the decor complemented those colors. Working with our decorator was amazing, she was so creative and really helped to bring our vision to life. We didn't have a specific theme in mind besides the colors and wanted to keep our reception elegant and classy, and with our decorator's help, we designed the perfect aesthetic. Our wedding planners were great and they were really essential for coordination amongst all the vendors for the day of the event. One of the best things we did during the planning process was a walk-through at the venue about one month before the wedding with the wedding planner, decorator, and venue. This really helped us feel at ease that everyone was on the same page for the timing and flow of events of the big day!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always knew I wanted to wear bright red for my bridal lengha but never really had a design in mind. I went shopping in India with my mom and found my bridal lengha at the first shop we went to! I only tried on 5-6 outfits and instantly knew this was the one when I saw it! I loved the bright color and detailed work and knew it would stand out amongst the color scheme of the ceremony.
