Los Angeles Indian Wedding by Sarah Yates Photography

The theme for Seema's wedding was "vintage Bollywood" and as I quickly learned about my new jijaji (brother-in-law), he was a fan of all things vintage. The one thing Nihar absolutely wanted in his wedding was to come in on a vintage Ambassador car, exactly like how his dad came in on his wedding years ago. A difficult task? Maybe. A difficult task for Tori and Dean? Yeah, not so much. They made it happen with flying colors! My favorite is how the car is 1) being driven by Dean and 2) that there's an Indian flag at the front. Tori and Dean = vintage Bollywood? Check!
Seema and Nihar were actually supposed to get married on the helipad of the Marriot Marina del Rey, but unfortunately, due to an incredibly abnormal rainstorm in LA that lasted the entire week before the wedding and the day of, the wedding was moved indoors to a ballroom with big beautiful windows on three sides of the room. While I think the helipad would have been amazing with the mandap overlooking the scenic Marina del Rey, I think having the wedding indoors still worked because with the dark clouds and fog outside, it's almost as if Nihar and Seema were married in the clouds. The beautiful, vibrant red in the ballroom, paired with wonderful gold seating and orange cushions looked beyond perfect against the gray clouds that overtook the California sky.

Coming up next Maharanis is the wedding ceremony so stay tuned!

Seema's smile as she walks down the aisle is worth a million words. She herself has said that making her laugh can be a little tough. Someone may be able to do it once, but doing it twice is not the easiest task. The fact that Nihar has the ability to make her laugh consistently is one of the many reasons that she fell in love with him and I think you can clearly see in every picture below just how happy Nihar makes Seema because well, he's making her laugh in every picture! My favorite photo from the set below has to be the 10th one down because it never fails to crack me up! Thank goodness Sarah Yates Photography was able to capture that precise moment because it's simply priceless!

Don't the two of them look absolutely beautiful? I don't think I've ever seen a couple more stunning than the two of them on their wedding day. Of course, I may be a little biased but what can I say?!
Take a quick break because I've got the finale coming up next!

I truly believe that Seema got the gorgeous genes in our family because not only did she look amazing in her bridal outfit, but her reception outfit was and is one of my absolute favorites ever! I don't think there's another person in the world who could look as good in that outfit as she did! But I can't forget about Nihar. His matching suit and tie make him look so debonair and charming that I've got to say, he makes Seema look goood. Good-bye Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, there's a new IT couple in town!
As a bride, can you imagine going into your wedding and your reception with no inkling of what to expect? Not even a hint? Impossible, right? I think it's safe to say that we'd all go crazy if we were in that position! Tori and Dean wanted to keep everything from the decorations to the most tiny details a secret and when Nihar and Seema walked in, they were happily surprised with what they saw! Cupcakes that could put the Cake Boss to shame, old Bollywood posters re-created with images of Nihar and Seema for table numbers, cocktails that were named after them in honor of where they first met and a surprise flash mob dance to "Jump On It" by the Sugar Hill Gang and "Teach Me How to Dougie," planned by yours truly and Seema's best friend, Trusha! There was one detail, however, that was completely unexpected and moved Seema to tears. Most of our family lives in India and due to Visa issues, our family members weren't able to make it to the wedding. The producers decided to secretly videotape a message from our family members in India and surprise Seema with it at the reception. She had no idea and as you can see below, was moved by the entire sequence. It wasn't the same as having family there, but the fact that the show did that for her was amazing. I even got tears in my eyes during the video!

What'd you guys think of Tori and Dean in their Indian outfits? They looked great, right?
I hope you all enjoyed checking out my lovely cousin and jijaji's wedding as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you! I loved re-living the moments of this wonderful wedding and I think I speak for everyone in attendance that night that it was one of the best night's we'd all had in a long time.
Have a great night Maharanis and see you tomorrow for a Valentine's Day special!

Virginia Indian Wedding Reception by Connor Studios

We have had breathtakingly gorgeous day on MW today, and we aren't done with this Hall of Fame wedding  just yet.  After a traditional ceremony, this Maharani showed the modern style of her personality with a reception that delicately highlighted her rani pink lengha.  With gorgeous lighting by DJ Raj Entertainment, the romance of pink, blush, and creme decor by Shagun Weddings changed from purple to blue as the night progressed. And, if you love ombre, like I do, you are going to love this Indian wedding cake!

Congratulations to the beautiful pair and we will see you all tomorrow!

Virginia Indian Wedding by Connor Studios

When vibrant red meets glittering gold for a Hindu ceremony I know that is a feature that is going to make every Maharani is going to stop and stare.  Whether your signature style is classic, glam, modern, or vintage, this traditional Virginia Indian wedding blends old world charm with contemporary touches beautifully. With images like a mom kissing her darling bride it's no wonder that these images by Connor Studios are tugging at my heart strings.  And, just in case you were wondering, I counted....this popular Maharani has a whooping fifteen gorgeous bridesmaids standing by her side!

Stay tuned Maharanis....we have a great tip coming up next!
