Edgy, Modern Sangeet by Global Photography

I have been looking forward to today’s post since attending this gorgeous affair last May.  The beautiful bride, Pooja, has been a close family friend for years, and is like a sister to me.  I still can’t believe that the little girl that I once knew has grown into such a elegant young lady, and that she is married!  But, if you know Pooja, like I do, then you know that her big day was going to be filled with the things near and dear to her heart : her family, her fiancée, and loads of fashionable details! From her totally unique lenghas to jewelry that will make your jaw drop, my eyes are totally fixated on these images by Global Photography.  And, the owner, Yogi, is such a gem, he sent me a gazillion images from the special wedding, so I can share each and every insanely lovely moment of this glorious Indian wedding! So, let’s start the party with this modern, edgy Sangeet!

Go grab a latte and I'll meet you right back here! More Indian wedding fun on the way!

Traditional Indian Bridal Style by Global Photography

I have just the Indian wedding to keep those long weekend blues away.  While the reality of work (I mean, it’s a four letter word, after all) has set in for most of us, I still have my head in the dreamy Indian wedding clouds.  I have been spending all morning pouring through the gorgeous images sent to us by Global Photography, and I am so in love, I can hardly breathe.  Maharani Pooja’s traditional bridal style stole my heart in one easy swoop.  Pinks, purples, yellows, and blues take center stage, while her kundan and ruby necklace add that perfect sparkling touch.  And, what Southern California girl would be complete without a pair of fabulous pink wedges? I mean what else do you walk down the aisle in if your ceremony takes place on a lawn overlooking the ocean?!

If you love this look, wait until you see what this Maharanista styled her bridesmaids in...coming right up!

New Trend : Ombre Bridesmaids!

I told you this bride was a total fashionista. And, if you still don’t believe me, just wait until you take a look at her bridesmaids saris.  Varying shades of green are paired with gold blouses, and perfectly accent the bride.  After all the bridesmaids are there to make the bride look larger than life, and when you have SO many beautiful friends, the ombre effect makes each and every Rani look like a ten!

They are so freakin cute, it makes me miss all my bridesmaids!  More coming right up!

Orange Country Hindu Ceremony by Global Photography

I am a mushy gushy mess today.  I keep staring at the screen with tears in my eyes because Maharani Pooja’s Indian wedding is near and dear to my heart.  This Orange County Hindu ceremony designed by Square Root is the perfect example of a traditional ceremony done in an unforgettable way.  The purple flower mandap anchors the garden and the soft blowing fabric highlights that magnificent ocean breeze.  With all of these romantic images by Global Photography, it’s as though I am taking an afternoon stroll through an enchanted, Indian oasis.  Matching the Maharani’s bridal lengha, of course!

Be still my beating heart! The color, the lenghas, the details, this one is dynamite!  Back in a flash!

Orange Country Indian Wedding by Global Photography

Here is the very best part of my job.  Not only do I get to stare, gaze, and drool over gorgeous Indian weddings all day, I get to learn something new about our rich culture.  In some families, the women of the house wash the feet of the bride with milk and flour, and then offer sweets to the couple.  In other families, the bride steps into a red colored water and imprints her first step as part of her new family.  Either way, I think it’s a lovely way to pause for a moment and for the Maharani to be welcomed by her new family.

If you thought Maharani Pooja's ceremony was amazing, wait until you see her reception!  Grab a glass of wine and meet me right back here!
