Featured Indian Wedding : Shaily loves Abhas, Finale

If you missed any of this wedding today, you must go back and see the photos by Francine Yang and the video by Daniel Boswell.  They can’t be missed!  I am loving their reception décor and flipped over Shaily’s black tie reception outfit.  They went by way too fast in the video, and I know our readers are dying to get a closer look. I’ve got  your back!

Shaily and Abhas worked with Stephanie Lairson to plan their big celebration.  She is experienced with South Asian weddings and always does a bang up job.

Congratulations to the cutie cute cute couple and big thank you to Daniel Boswell and Francine Yang for sharing their incredible work with us.

Featured Indian Wedding : Shaily loves Abhas, Part II

Daniel Boswell from Imagique (pronounced " emmajeek"), formerly dvArtistry, made this incredible SDE that really sums up Shaily and Abhas wedding EXTRA-vaganza. Their sangeet took place on a three story yatch that sailed Newport Harbor, and their wedding was at the always beautiful Hyatt in Huntington Beach. What I adore about Daniel's work is that he is able to capture the true personality of the bride and groom and bring it to life.

How adorable is Abhas jumping into the car to kick off the baraat?!  And Shaily is my kind of girl who wins the competition and not having a hair out of place! I love it!

From Daniel : One of the things that stood out about this couple and their day is the fact that it was so very Indian yet with a modern and “American” feel to it as well. For instance, one minute there would be Indian music blaring through speakers and the next, the groomsmen are walking out to Superman by Jane’s Addiction (Entourage theme). But thats them; very entrenched in, and influenced by, both cultures and thats what this day so very interesting and fascinating to be a part of.

Once again I am going to tell all of you that a professional video is a must for your wedding day.  Your wedding day will go by in a whirlwind and your wedding video gives you a document of what the experience felt like.  Also, for all the grooms out there if you are ever in trouble with your lovely wife, just do what my husband does and pop your wedding video into the DVD player. The gorgeous images of your wedding day will get you out of trouble in an instant!

Featured Indian Wedding : Shaily loves Abhas, Part I

Today's featured indian wedding is fresh, it's fashionable, it's SO Maharani Weddings. Shaily and Abhas were married earlier this summer in Orange County, CA and their wedding exemplifies modern Indian.  This couple has a trendy, hip air about them that is just flat out cool.  Francine Yang was nice enough to share some images of their Ceremony and Reception with us.

Back in a flash with more of hip, modern Indian wedding!

Indian Wedding Cinema by Pacific Pictures

Sometimes, I find a wedding idea SO good that I want to put it in a treasure chest and bury it in my backyard only to have it unveiled at a family wedding in the future.  Since, I live in San Francisco, and I don’t have a backyard, you guys are in luck.  This unique indian wedding idea comes to us from Kevin Shahinian from Pacific Pictures in Southern California. Kevin is a genius - he took the two things indian people are most fanatical about, Bollywood and weddings, combined them and produced the most delicious results we have ever seen. So, sit back and enjoy this Bollywood style mini movie starring the bride & groom.

How does a shy M.D. win the heart of a gorgeous pharmacuetical rep? Find out in “Dil Jaanta Hai (The Heart Knows),” starring Anuja & Nirav, an original Bollywood-inspired short produced for their 6.6.09 wedding.

Amazing, isn't it?! Anuja & Nirav’s surprise big screen debut premiered on two massive screens just before their grand entrance to hundreds of unsuspecting family and friends.  As you can imagine, it was an instant hit and everyone adored this quirky, amusing kick off to their reception.

The creativity, talent, and hard work that went into this movie illustrates Kevin’s genuine passion for his craft and clients.  Thanks a bunch for sharing this with us Kevin!

Featured Indian Wedding : Michelle loves Atif, Finale!

Okay, we are off to a running start today as we feature our very first Valima on Maharani Weddings.  For those of you just joining us, Michelle and Atif’s Valima was held the day after their wedding, by the groom’s parents to welcome the new couple to the community.  It was a glorious affair with no detail left to chance. I love these perfectly coordinated high and low centerpieces.  Simply divine. There are a ton of opulent indian wedding ideas in today's feature!

The floral design was done by the always fabulous Shivran Design.  If you have not visited their website you should definitely spend a few minutes (or an hour!) going through their gallery of weddings.  The photographs are Ah-mazing and will leave you with countless ideas to infuse throughout your big bash.  The lighting and rentals was done under the artistic eyes at Royal Events.

I can’t decide which I like better – their sweetheart table from their Valima or their one from their wedding reception.  Tough choice.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the team at Exquisite Events and Megan Stark Photography & Design for bringing us this love story.
