Greetings, ladies! Journey with me to Arizona for this wonderful Ezine-featured, Bollywood-themed, Indian wedding, courtesy of Sameer Sorma Studios & NoBox Films! Check out the first stunning portrait of the lovebirds! Maharani Ashley looks beautiful in her red, blue & gold lengha choli! Her porcelain complexion is positively glowing, thanks to the makeup stylings of Scarlett Rai. Her sleek, black pulled-back hair-do looks perfect paired with shimmery eye shadows and radiant, red lips. I adore the intricate mendhi design by Henna by Purvi that covers not only her hands but arms as well. I love seeing the design play peek-a-boo through her red & white bangles. JupmaterG of Dhol Beat International rings in the baraat, for the captivating wedding ceremony, which takes place at the palatial The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain, which Travel + Leisure magazine considers to be one of the Top 100 Hotels in the World! And can we please just stop for a moment and stare at that gorgeous glass mandap by none other than Us 2 You Party Rentals! I heard it was custom-made for Ashley's & Mirag's wedding! That was so special and what a lovely ceremony! Stay with us as we uncover more from this sensational event in which the one & only Wicked Entertainment serves as the MC! You can't afford to miss a moment! Until then, check out more from the big day in the gallery!
From the bride, on how they met:
"Mirag and I met out one night in the fall of 2009. I remember Mirag telling me the silliest jokes all night. I thought to myself “who is this crazy guy”? As corny as his jokes were, something about him stuck and I ended up agreeing to his request for dinner a couple of weeks later. We had a great first date and after dinner ended up walking around D.C. talking for hours."
On the proposal:
"Three years after we started dating Mirag and I were walking around the Lincoln Memorial one evening. The Lincoln Memorial and DC are so special to us since that was the place we met and fell in love. All of a sudden right in front of the Memorial steps Mirag got down on one knee and proposed. I was so surprised – I just burst out crying."
On the ceremony lengha:
"I had always wanted a Devdas inspired Lehnga- luckily we found this amazing tailor in Chandani Chawnk who had the most beautiful and intricate work. I only tried on three Lehngas- the minute I tried on the Blue and Red velvet - I knew this was it."
On special details:
"My mom and aunt were instrumental in all the details that went into my wedding. They would have a 2 hour conversation almost everyday for a year to discuss what we needed and how to really make the event come together. My aunt lives in Delhi and took us shopping twice in one year for all my outfits and jewelry."
