Virginia Indian Wedding by Connor Studios

If I had to choose my favorite moment from my wedding day, I just couldn't do it.  It would be hard to choose between special moments like getting ready with friends, seeing my soon-to-be husband for the first time, and of course, walking down the aisle.  With so many incredible instants on a wedding day, there is one promenade that often is forgotten about - struting into your reception.  Filled with love & excitement and decked out in your sparkliest wedding lengha, the moments before you enter your reception as the new Mrs are totally exhilarating!

I wish I could do it again and again!  Finale coming right up!

Fabulous Virginia Indian Wedding by Photographick Studios

Helloooooo Maharanis!  I have a splendid Indian wedding to share with all of you today.  Shot by the fabulous team at Photographick Studios, this Virginia stunner had me at the first photograph.  From the lovely Maharani and her trademark mega-watt smile to the awesome red on ruby color palette this wedding will make your heart stop.  I simply can't decide what is my favorite part of her gorgeous Indian bridal style. Her jewelry is divine and her playful groom is like the ideal accessory! All topped with that perfect red lipstick and it is no wonder that I my head is spinning!

From our Maharani, Lisa :
We met at Kenny Singh's Halloween house party. We were both on the same team for flip-cup (greatest game ever) and he was yelling at me from the end of the line to "hurry up" because he is oh so competitive. Then of course he requested to add me on Facebook to which I DECLINED....twice. Then randomly we ran into each other at Guarapo's (our favorite spot) and he totally called me out and asked why I didn't add him. He declared his love outside of Chicha when we had our first kiss. Our first official date was at Busara and then 3rd Edition in Georgetown after dinner.  And then well....I finally did and here we are today.
Hold on to your seats Maharanis, we have a gorgeous day in store!  Back in a bit!

Virginia Indian Wedding by Photographick Studios and Partyland Flowers & Event Decor

The pretty parade of 2012 has just begun, and we have loads of Indian wedding ideas for you today!  Traditional Maharanis, grab your wedding notebooks, because if you dream of having a ceremony covered in red and gold, you are going to fall head over heels for this draped mandap by Partyland Flowers & Event Decor.  Rich fabric, gold manzanita trees covered with crystals, and a red carpet create the royal look, anchored of course, by a glittering, golden mandap! With all beauty and ambiance that Sachi and her team created, I completely forgot that this Hindu ceremony was in a ballroom.  I mean really.....I can't think of a more heavenly place to say "I do!"

We rarely (read : almost NEVER) post black & white images on the site because the soft, subtle beauty of black & white photography doesn't show well on the web.  Well, when I saw this next image in the bundle from Photographick Studios, I decided that it was too pretty not to share.  Just promise me that you will picture this photograph, in a lovely frame, on their mantel during the holidays....
More swoon worthy stuff coming right up!

Virginia Indian Wedding by Photographick Studios

Okay, before we get to the reception and all that jazz, can we just take a minute to drool over these amazing images by Photographick Studios?  I love the way they captured the couple...warm, playful, young, and definitely in love.  Being a Maharani who prefers candids to posey-posed shots, these portraits are a refreshing break from the usual ones we see. And, the bride and groom couldn't look happier!

From Maharani, Lisa :
How did he propose?
He had a whole day of events planned. He picked me up and gave me a list of riddles that related to each one of our stops. I guess he couldn't wait because he proposed at our first stop, which was Great Falls. He had a whole picnic planned and right when the sun came out on a gloomy day he got down on one knee and said the magic words..."Lisa, will you marry me?". And of course I said yes and then the water works started! A day we both will never forget.
What are you both looking forward to the most as a married?:
Other than traveling the world together and going on new adventures, we are mostly looking forward to coming home to each other.
More coming right up!

Virginia Indian Wedding by Photographick Studios

It's official.  I have my first crush of 2012, and it is on these two lovebirds!  They blew me away with their adorable smiles and snazzy clothes at the ceremony, but they really looked smashing at their reception!  Captured elegantly by Photographick Studios, the bride's pink and green lengha made this emerald lover's heart go pitter patter.  The rich fabric and intricate design make it my favorite combination of sophisticated and modern all at the same time.  And, her handsome groom is looking sharp in a charcoal tuxedo with matching tie. This reception is just as pretty as the couple, take special note of the red on ruby color palette and that decadent gold Indian wedding cake!

Congratulations to the happy couple and we will see you tomorrow!
