Sonoma Indian Wedding by Carlie Statsky

I am jumping up and down with excitement and beyond flattered today because Amy & Jocey, the lovely  ladies who run one of my daily read wedding blogs, The Wedding Chicks asked little ole’ me to blog this beautiful Indian fusion wedding.  I read The Wedding Chicks 5 times a day when I was engaged and I still go back to it every.single.day.  I adore their whimsical weddings and I go bah-nanas for their DIY Downloads.  So, what could be better than blog alongside one of my favorite sites, than this amazing Sonoma Indian Wedding?!?!?!  Bright and sunny with a dash of vintage, and I flipped when I saw that the bride wore a traditional silk sari with a matching gold belt!  From the pretty florals by FleurEssence  to the charming details I am head over heels in love with this one. Luckily, Carlie Statsky was there to capture every breath taking moment, so I will for sure be drooling all day!

From the awe-inspiring Carlie Statsky :
This was a day so saturated with color, joy, ceremony and love. There were so many amazing details and moments to capture, , beginning with the traditional Indian ceremony in front of the lotus pond at Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma. The ceremony concluded with mango lassis and sweets while Anne and Ganesh went to change for their western ceremony.I was so impressed with how swiftly Anne changed out of her sari and into her gown, tamed her wind blown hair, and was was ready to begin their intimate and personalized western ceremony. After the second ceremony we went and had some fun exploring around Cornerstone's beautiful gardens in the crazy wind while guests enjoyed cocktail hour by the barn. Everyone then moved into a heated tent for a family style dinner, and then headed to the equally cozy barn for dancing and cake. Anne and Ganesh, together with the help of the talented team at Dandelion Events, did such a wonderful job bringing two traditions together to create a day that felt so cohesive and full of joy, and they couldn't have chosen a better venue for such a day than Cornerstone Gardens.
The fun doesn’t stop here – no way Maharanis – there is even more of this Indian Wedding coming right up!

Sweet Sonoma Hindu Ceremony by Carlie Statsky

I have one of those silly smiles on my face that I just can’t hide today!  And, how can you blame me?  Not only is this sweet rustic Indian wedding the very thing to get your heart a thumpin’, but we are featuring it alongside our friends over at The Wedding Chicks.  As someone who could spend hours in a flower shop {admiring, not working}, ceremony flowers are my very favorite floral of the whole wedding day.  This mandap designed by Leslie Goldberg of Dandeloin Events and created by FleurEssence  made my jaw fall on the floor. It might look humble at first, but it is actually quite infatuating.   The hand strung carnations are a nod to the traditional, while their scattered suspension and color gives a modern touch to the mandap.  And, let’s talk about those jai malas!  Full and luscious, it’s like I can almost smell those sweet roses. With so much romance tucked around each beautiful corner of this wine country fusion wedding, this Maharani is going to spend her day swooning!

Your wedding day should be a reflection of you, your groom and the things you love.  So, when I saw these mango lassis I immediately started laughing.  Now, you must be thinking, why on earth is a mango lassi so funny?!  Well, we served them at my wedding, and nothing was funnier to my wedding planner than the fact that my husband and I are both allergic to mango! Imagine that, a match made in heaven, two Indian people, both allergic to mango!  Anand and I love mango lassi, we just don’t love them enough to land ourselves in the ER!
More Indian wedding fun on the way!

Wine Country Fusion Indian Wedding by Carlie Statsky

It’s such a compliment that today’s Maharani has embraced the rich Indian, and a tad overwhelming, culture with such open arms.  I mean, this decked-out-in-a-sari, mehndi painted, tikka wearing, coconut holding Maharani jumped in with both feet and totally rocked it! And, this wasn’t just a day of the week, this was HER wedding day! Well, after their totally beautiful Hindu ceremony, the couple had a Western ceremony so her fairytale vision could come to life.  Romantic gown, flowing hair, there is really nothing else that I can say than that it’s simply maarh-velous!

Finale coming right up...back in a flash!

Sonoma Indian Fusion Wedding Carlie Statsky

Not to brag, but it's been a totally breath-taking week on Maharani Weddings so far, and we aren’t done quite yet.  As if we weren’t totally enamored by this vintage inspired wine country wedding we got from the gals at The Wedding Chicks, we are utterly delighted over this sweet reception soiree.  The dashing details, like blank wish cards  placed alongside the old family photographs, make the evening personal to the bride and groom.  While the almost too cute to eat cupcakes by Kara’s Cupcakes  make me want to dive right in, it's really the images of the two dancing that make my heart go pitter patter. So, before we call it a night on MW, feast your pretty peepers on a few more gorgeous images by Carlie Statsky.

Huge thanks to our friends at The Wedding Chicks for sharing this wedding with us, and congratulations to Anne and Ganesh!

Rose Filled Sikh Ceremony by Tomas Photography

Get your pinterest accounts ready Maharanis because this Texas Indian wedding deserves some serious pinning! I don’t think that there can be a dreamier than this glamorous entrance, and if you missed the earlier post today, make sure you scroll down to enjoy all every little tid bid of excitement we had over this red carpet.   Each detail was perfectly thought through and executed by Joann Woodward and her team at Schwartz & Woodward.  The bright green floral elephant, the orange and red rose kissing balls, and sparkling chandeliers set the mood for a sweet, romantic ceremony.  Luck for us Tomas Ramos Photography was on hand to capture it all, but the magic really happens for me in the last shot...I can feel the warmth and love in that hug!

More juicy details from Joann of Schwartz & Woodward:
A very traditional Punjabi Sikh ceremony was performed at the Gurudwara of Southwest Houston. The color palette was Orange, Gold and Reds. The photos speak for themselves! Large pots of red roses and burgundy peonies. Large arrangements topping the elephants that lined the red carpet as well as the couples initials that hung from the outdoor roof. We brought in large plants as a background and decorated event the top of the garbage cans. As guests went up the stairs each railing was covered in greenery and flowers tucked in between the garlands. Due to the fact that this was a Sikh wedding, guests are requested to sit on the floor. We designed large ottomans covered in fresh red and orange roses with a paisley design on the top with a large red stone that was taken from their save the dates. This was so much fun to design with the florist and see it literally come to life! Each railing was covered with roses which gave the room such a wonderful glow.
After the ceremony the couple road off in a trolley with their wedding party to attend the luncheon. The color palette for the luncheon was ivory, reds and golds. Custom linens with an embroidered pattern were the perfect setting for matching rose centerpieces. Custom designed cards were made for the family tables to reserve seating. Guests entered to find 2 life size ice lions before entering the ballroom.  A delicious luncheon was served with the highlight being the sizzling brownies! Guests were given embellished bags strung with pearls.  There was not a dry eye in the group as Kanchan said her goodbyes to her parents and drove off in a Rolls Royce.
Reception on the way...and, wait until you see this cake!  It's spectacular!
