Welcome to Maharani Weddings

Making a mandap look spectacular is easy outdoors or on top of a sea side cliff.  Some flowers here, some draping there, and poof you are done.  The real challenge comes when you have to get married in gasp….a ballroom.  Well, Maharanis, if I had to get married indoors, I would make sure that my ceremony looked just like this.  A simple mandap with emphasis on the lighting creates mood, ambiance, and romance.

I was first introduced to Susan Stripling Photography by my friend, Ray Roman, and I must admit that since our virtual meeting I have been stalking Susan’s blog on a regular basis.  There are a million reasons why she has risen to the top of my favorite photographers list, but to put it simply, it’s because Susan can capture a wedding perfectly.  And, it isn’t about having the perfect wedding to shoot. Through Susan’s lens, every detail look amazing, every moment heartfelt, and every wedding very, very, special.  I have fallen madly in love with her work, and I can’t wait to share more of it with all of you on Maharani Weddings.

I promised a bling-y ring and I am going to deliver.  Jewelry is one thing that I never joke around about.  Carrie’s art deco inspired, octagon shaped ring has a bit of old world royalty.  And, when paired with not one, but two rose gold wedding bands it becomes extraordinary.

Since it is the first day of spring, I am going to let you all in on a little secret.  Today’s spring Indian Wedding inspiration was put together by my dear friend, Saman, owner of 2Create Designs, and all of it was done for less than five thousand dollars!  I know, it’s hard to believe, but when you know where to skimp, where to splurge, and where to think outside the box, you don’t have to spend a million bucks to make your wedding LOOK like a million bucks.

Ahhhh the end to another FABulous day on Maharani thanks to the help of Pink Rock Events and Harvard Photography. Seema and Yatin’s Indian wedding has left us totally inspired to think waaay outside the box.  With their cool, edgy style, they really brought their own charm to their Indian wedding, but it still was just that.  An Indian wedding through and through : traditional, spectacular, and just so totally them.
