How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met Riyaz at work back in 2014 when he joined. At first, we began talking casually at work and randomly on social media. Rumors at work began to escalate that Riyaz was interested in my co-worker and wanted to ask her out. I left work shortly after to get back to school full time and we lost contact. After 3 years, Riyaz messaged me randomly to see how things were at my end. We started talking again and he cleared the misunderstanding about asking my co-worker out. He was interested me instead but was hesitant to let me know. After talking for months, we started dating and that's when I knew he was the "one." He was so generous to my mom and instantly connected with my family. I was introduced to his family and his and I became really good friends. Everything was so smooth and seemed perfect.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We met often at "I love you a latte" for college work or just to hangout. One day he calls me randomly when I was in class to meet him for coffee. He never calls me or texts me when I am in class. I went to see him after my class and we had coffee together. Shortly after, we went out for lunch at Bob Steak House and that’s where he proposed. We had our lunch and spend rest of the day together.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Riyaz and I wanted to get married in summer but were not sure about the dates. After switching between end of July to beginning of August, we decided to go for mid-July. Since summer usually are busy with weddings, we knew that we had to start early and reach out to all the vendors that we ever wanted for our wedding. Thanks to amazing family for helping us out in planning and organizing. We divided tasks to everyone in our families but ended up deciding what we liked and imagined.

Riyaz is a fan of PhotoKumar and I heard great things about Wedding Decor by Faiza for our wedding decorations so we decided to reach them and finalize it. Next, we focused on FOOD. Yes, believe it or not it’s very important. lol Afterwards, we focused on the details. I absolutely loved Ghalia's makeup and I have been following her for a while. So, I reached out to her and luckily the dates were available. I also loved Fiyona's mehndi and by luck she was also available.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had no idea what color I wanted for my wedding outfit but I definitely didn't wanted red. When I went to Pakistan with my family to shop for wedding outfits, I tried out many outfits with different color options but nothing came satisfactory. And then my designer, Salma Dawood said why don't have something pink and peachesh. It's not too common and also colors like this are preferred these days. When she showed me the color, I felt in love and decided to go for that. I picked my wedding dress embroidery from three different outfits. The final piece came out amazing and just as I imagined. My Nikkah sari from Panache by Sharmeen was amazing. I didn't imagine my Nikkah Sari to be White. Everyone wears white and I wanted to wear something unique with unique color combination. As soon as I saw this sari, I couldn't stop myself from purchasing it. Riyaz also ended up buying his Sherwani from Sharmeen.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I absolutely loved planning the little details of the wedding. My niece and nephews were so excited to dress up and dance for their Ani's wedding. I enjoyed planning little things for pithi and Sangeet with my mom and bhabi. I also enjoyed rehearsing on all the performances Riyaz and I planned. We selected songs, rehearsed on it and performed at our Sangeet and Reception.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guest really enjoyed the ambiance of the reception day. Since we had Tabla and Sitar players at our wedding, it made it very special for guests to enjoy something different. The cake by Sally Bakes me Pretty, made amazing Tres Leche and Nutella cake. Very satisfactory to our taste buds.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The special moment that replays in my mind is the video Riyaz and I made for our families to express our feelings. Riyaz and My father passed away years ago and we wanted to remember them and appreciate them on our special day. The videos we made not only remembered our fathers but also express our love and appreciation for our families. My mom and my brothers cried after watching the video and it also put me to tears also

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We decorated our house full of lights and flowers. Some days after the planning and decorating we would drop everything, put the music on, and just dance.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Just be relax. I know weddings can be really stressful but just relax. Plan a head of time, whether it’s a wedding season or not but just plan a head of time. Planning ahead will give you peace of mind that your vendors have the dates locked.

Another advice to enjoy your day. Sometimes, we get so carried away with the timings and details that we don't even enjoy our own day. It’s your day and you planned it for a while, so Just enjoy it and let everything happen on its own.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I am mehandi lover and very picky when it comes to my Bridal Mehandi. I loved Fiyona's work and she designed it the way I imaged it. I was not too picky about my jewelry but Tilak Jewelers had the perfect piece to compliment my Nikkah Sari.

Riyaz and I wanted a reception venue that is closer to our place. We loved the venue at Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park, so we decided to go with that.

I loved the way our wedding turned out. Everything happened the way we planned out and it would've never been possible without the help and support from our families.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
He's been my best friend since we were in high school. Always knew he was the one!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
My husband drove all the way from Brooklyn to NJ with my sister in law and his 3 nieces to a park near me and set up a balloon arch that said Marry me with rose petals all over the floor. My siblings blind folded me and then he took me to the spot he set up and got down on one knee. I knew the whole time what was going to happen, but it was still really special.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I know I wanted a traditional red lengha. I went to the bridal market in Pakistan with my parents with only 8 days to shop for my entire wedding due to work/vacation time and we spent all day looking to find the perfect lengha. My parents saw it and loved it first and at first I wasn't so sure until they put it up against me and put the dupatta on my head as I looked in the mirror.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The little details like the making the diya plates was such a fun activity to do with my sister. We got to be creative and it was one of the things I really looked forward to doing because I could take my vision and bring it to life.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My father daughter dance was the most special and emotional moment of the whole wedding. We danced to "Half the Man" by Jennifer Smestad and we cry everytime we hear the song or watch the video.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
You can't control everything & if you can get a planner or day of coordinator. They handled everything the day of and saved me so much stress. A lot of changes were made and a lot of things could have went wrong, did go wrong because of covid but I didn't focus on any of it nor did I need to because I was too busy enjoying my special day all thanks to the special people behind the scenes!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
This was the first wedding in my family so there were ofcourse a lot of firsts. We got lucky in many ways with the amazing people we booked, but we booked some non so great vendors/venues as well. Firstly, I booked eventsbtsrishti as my day of coordinator and there's no words that could describe my gratitude to her and her team on making my dad as amazing as it was. They're a forever vendor for me and my family and I can't reccomend them enough. 1314 studio was my photographer/videographer and they're worth every penny, their work is amazing! Lake chateau was by far the best venue we booked, they were so accommodating & the venue was beautiful. Pinhos bakery has been a family favorite bakery, they made my sweet16 cake & now my wedding cake. BeautyByTamanna was my hair and makeup artist and her work speaks for itself, she's kind, respectful and SO talented. Food was catered from Sunshine restaurant and we got many compliments! DJ salman and Amplifire Entertainment were our Djs and they did a great job keeping the flow of the day going and keeping people on their feet during open dancefloor.

If you loved this one, I bet you will adore what we have prepared for tomorrow. So come back!

Hello, Maharanis! Get ready to unveil Anjali & Chris's fusion wedding in today's Platinum Guide Blog!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Christy (Chris) and I met on dil mil. I am a Director of Nursing and he is NYPD, He definiteIy made my heart skip and a beat and I cuffed his heart. I was never a person found of matrimonial sites I grew up thinking I would find the love of my life in some Bollywood type of way. However God had his own plans. Our first date, he flew down for he is from NY and I am from Dallas, Our first date started out going to church together it was then I knew he was the one, for he said to me " I want to pray to god for bringing you into my life and I want to pray that he makes my dreams a reality by making you mine forever". Our love and foundation was built on our faith.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Throughout our relationship of being together for a year we saw each other every month except for December 2019 and January 2020 due to both our work schedules, I had asked him if at least for Valentines day we could be together he kept telling me he couldn't get off and we would try for March. Little did I know he was planning to propose with the help of my brother Tony. My brother convinced me that he had a work dinner to go to at the Dallas Reunion Tower Restaurant and asked if I could go with him, We got dressed since he said semi formal, and as I walked out of the elevator i was greeted by a trail of candles and rose petals with Christy waiting for me and I burst into tears and ran into his arms after he embraced me he got down on one knee and proposed, When I turned around my whole family was there to celebrate the most magical day ever. Chris and my brother decorated the area with roses, candles, and pictures of us over the year framed. Beyond blessed.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I always dreamt of my wedding being a huge elaborate celebration, but due to COVID plans had to be completely changed and downsized. Our first meeting with our wedding planners Dallas1Events, I was very emotional and disheartened but our wedding planners and parents were such positive spirits and their outlook was it doesn't matter the size everything I dreamt of they wanted to make come true. Our Venue was at our St. Thomas Church Hall, Hair and Makeup I chose the wonderful Jtorry, My outfits as I always dreamed were made by Ruby Bhandari of Silk Threads. Our Décor theme was peacocks and my favorite colors of royal blue, diamonds, and crystals. Two days before our wedding we had a mylanchi/mehndi night as well as chandam charth for my husband it was combined shared with our most initmate friends and family. Our décor theme came to life with the wonderful Ensign décor team.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My wedding dress was elegant and classic which I found at mockingbird bridal which was a very special moment for I went with my mom and dad who always made me feel like a princess so it was only fitting to have them by my side to pick my wedding dress. Besides who else would be brutally honest! My Bridal lengha was modern and in my favorite royal blue color. I had told Ruby to make me look faboulous and that she did she made me feel like a Bollywood Barbie!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was the finite details such as the cake design of two peacocks kissing, to the chariot for my mylanchi entrance carried in by my brother and cousin brothers, as well as the rolls Royce exit. These details embodied the elegance and extravagance we wanted to portray.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests enjoyed the décor, the rolls Royce exit, and the music accompanied by dancing on a cloud by the wonderful Dj Riz Entertainment and Dj Freddy Mac who truly made our first dance as well as my father daughter dance absolutely magical.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment that replays in my mind was at the church when we were announced as Mr. and Mrs. George and seeing the smile and tears of joy from our friends and family was truly heart warming and special.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Our special moments were captured beautifully for years to come by the wonderful Starline Studios Photography, and videography by united media live. We had special group dance by Team Ground Zero,
Flowers and Decor were wonderfully created by Ensign Décor. Wedding Planners Dallas1Events who we would recommend time and time again for they alleviated many stresses and took care of everything. They truly catered to our needs, wants, and dreams.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
My words of wisdom for Brides to be is no matter the obstacles, downfalls, make your dreams come true in any manner possible. As long as you have your soul mate to hold your hand and tell you everything will work itself out its you against the world. When you feel nervous or anxious always pray and god will find a way. Remember his plans are always on time and always right.
